Reports: Two class of 2026 prospects have set IU basketball official visits
A pair of class of 2026 prospects have reportedly set official visits to Bloomington.
Over the weekend, multiple reports surfaced that Latrell Allmond, a 6-foot-8 big man from John Marshall in Richmond, Virginia, will visit Indiana June 17-18.
And on Monday morning, Jeff Rabjohns reported that Prince-Alexander Moody, a 6-foot-4 combo guard from Bishop McNamara in Maryland, will also take an official visit to Bloomington.
Allmond landed an IU scholarship offer on May 8 and Moody also received an offer on May 8.
Allmond plays for Team Loaded on the adidas 3SSB circuit and Moody plays for Team Takeover on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit.
Allmond is a four-star prospect and the No. 43 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
According to MaxPreps.com, he averaged 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocked shots, 1.7 steals and 1.4 assists last season as a junior at John Marshall.
He has offers from Florida State, Georgetown, Louisville, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Ole Miss, Providence, Rutgers, Tennessee, Texas A&M, VCU, Virginia and several other schools.
He took a visit to Tennessee last fall when new IU assistant Rod Clark was on staff with the Volunteers and was also being recruited by Kenny Johnson while he was at Georgetown.
Moody is listed as a combo guard by 247Sports and is rated the No. 149 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite.
He also has scholarship offers from Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Providence, Virginia Tech and several other schools.
Johnson has close ties to the Team Takeover program, which features many of the top players from the DMV area.
A dead period for college basketball recruiting begins Wednesday, May 21 and runs through Sunday, June 1.
During a dead period, it is not permissable to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off of campus. Official and unofficial visits on campus are also not permitted during the dead period.
