IU basketball 2025-26 roster tracker: The latest as of April 8
We’re just past the midway point of the window for players to enter the transfer portal. The last day to enter the transfer portal is two weeks from today, April 22.
There has been no shortage of roster movement for IU basketball following the coaching change from Mike Woodson to Darian DeVries, who took over on March 18.
Here’s the latest on the IU roster for the 2025-26 season, which includes all roster movement among scholarship players. We’ll continue to publish updates throughout the spring until the roster is complete.
Transfer portal departures
Seven scholarship players from the 2024-25 team entered the transfer portal, which left DeVries without a confirmed returning player for his first Hoosier roster.
The players who entered: Gabe Cupps, Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako, Jakai Newton, Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle and Bryson Tucker.
Of the seven, four have committed to new schools.
Gabe Cupps was the first off the board to Ohio State, followed by Malik Reneau to Miami (FL), Jakai Newton to Georgia State and Myles Rice to Maryland.
Dallas James, a late addition to the 2024-25 roster last summer, did not play for the Hoosiers last season and is not expected to return.
Still in limbo
The status of Luke Goode for the 2025-26 season is uncertain.
Goode is seeking a medical hardship waiver for the 2025-26 season in hopes that the NCAA will restore his eligibility from the 2022-23 season.
That season, the Fort Wayne native missed the first 23 games with an injury. He returned for the season’s final 10 games, exhausting his eligibility for the season by NCAA rule.
However, Goode said last month he’s hopeful the NCAA will consider his request.
“I know it’s not the typical situation where people would ask for waivers, but we got some people working on it and I’d be very fortunate to play another year,” he told reporters following IU’s loss to Oregon in the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis. “I think with everything now going on in college basketball and all the extra years they’re giving to JUCO kids and non-DI kids and all that, I think only playing 10 games in a season will be more than justifiable.”
Incoming freshmen
Indiana had two freshmen committed when DeVries accepted the job on March 18, but Bosnian wing Harun Zrno chose to reopen his recruitment on March 19.
That leaves the Hoosiers with one freshman currently on the roster for next season: Trent Sisley.
The Southern Indiana native recently completed his final high school season at Montverde Academy and is expected to arrive on campus this summer.
Incoming players from the transfer portal
Thus far, Indiana has three players incoming from the transfer portal, although only two have publicly confirmed their commitments.
Indiana has not, as of the morning of April 8, announced any roster additions for next season other than Sisley, who signed last November.
Tucker DeVries, the son of Darian DeVries, is expected to be a starter for the Hoosiers next winter. He was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference player of the year at Drake. DeVries has not shared any news of a commitment to IU via his social media accounts. DeVries has one season of eligibility remaining.
Conor Enright, who played for DeVries at Drake, is transferring to Indiana from DePaul. The 6-foot-2 point guard announced his commitment to the Hoosiers on April 2. Enright has one season of eligibility remaining.
Forward Reed Bailey, a first team All-Atlantic 10 selection last season at Davidson, committed to Indiana on April 6. Bailey averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Wildcats last season and has one season of eligibility left.
