IU basketball to play Syracuse at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday, November 9

IU basketball is set to play Syracuse in a non-conference game next season on Monday, November 9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Inside the Hall has confirmed.

The matchup was first reported by Jon Rothstein on Wednesday morning.

The matchup becomes the third known non-conference game for the Hoosiers next season. IU is also scheduled to host Bellarmine at Assembly Hall and play Kentucky at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Both rosters will look considerably different next winter as the Orange hired Gerry McNamara as their new head coach and IU is expected to have a major roster overhaul this spring via the transfer portal as it prepares for season two of the Darian DeVries era.

Syracuse leads the all-time series between the programs 6-1.

The Orange won the last meeting 112-110 in double overtime in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in November of 2021.

The Hoosiers won the first matchup in the series 74-73 in the 1987 national championship game.

An official announcement regarding the matchup is expected in the coming weeks.
