IU football lands commitment from Tulane transfer wide receiver Shazz Preston

IU football landed a transfer portal commitment from Tulane wide receiver Shazz Preston, according to his Instagram account.

The 6-foot, 206-pound wideout finished the 2025 season for the Green Wave with 43 receptions, 723 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 16.8 yards per reception.

Preston is a native of Saint James, Louisiana, who signed with Alabama out of high school and spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons in the Crimson Tide program.

As a redshirt sophomore at Tulane in the 2024 season, Preston played in six games and had four catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

A consensus four-star prospect out of high school, he was rated the No. 5 receiver in the nation and the No. 44 player nationally by Rivals, the No. 8 receiver and the No. 55 player nationally by the 247Composite and the No. 46 recruit nationally by the On3 consensus ratings.

Preston has one season of eligibility remaining. He also considered Baylor, Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma State.
