Report: Class of 2026 wing Vaughn Karvala sets IU basketball visit

  • 2h ago

A class of 2026 prospect ranked in the top 50 nationally will reportedly visit IU this month.

Vaughn Karvala, the No. 42 player in the class of 2026 according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, will visit Bloomington on October 16, according to Travis Branham of 247Sports.

The trip will be for IU’s homecoming weekend. IU football hosts Michigan State at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 17.

Originally from Oregon, Wisconsin, Karvala now plays at Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona. He played for Team Herro on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit.

Karvala is also considering Xavier and Cal, for which he has scheduled a visit this month.

The Hoosiers currently have one player committed in the class of 2026 – Prince-Alexander Moody.

Here’s a scouting report on Karvala from Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports:

“Karvala is loaded with glaring upside. He’s a big, nearly 6-foot-7 wing with a pretty shooting stroke from downtown. He runs well, covers the court, and can rise-up explosively to play above the rim. The key is putting it all together consistently and efficiently in order to impact winning to the highest degree.”
