The July evaluation periods have come and gone and IU basketball’s recruiting efforts for the class of 2026 are coming more into focus.

Several prospects on the IU basketball 2026 recruiting board have already made list cuts and scheduled visits to Bloomington.

Here’s an updated look at where things stand with several of the prospects IU has offered in the class of 2026:

(More information about each prospect mentioned in this article can be found on the 2026 IU basketball recruiting board.)

Committed prospects

Prince-Alexander Moody: The 6-foot-4 guard was the first in the rising senior class to announce his pledge to the Hoosiers. Alexander-Moody committed to Indiana on June 27.

In the latest 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2026 class, Moody is the No. 197 prospect nationally.

Indiana is in a group of finalists or visits are scheduled

Davion Adkins: The 6-foot-9 Adkins announced his six finalists on July 26 and the Hoosiers are in the mix along with Auburn, Houston, Kansas, Rutgers and UCLA.

Adkins, the No. 37 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, has a visit to Bloomington scheduled for the weekend of September 13.

Latrell Allmond: The 6-foot-8 Allmond (pictured), who recently transferred from John Marshall to Petersburg for his senior season, visited Indiana in June. On July 25, he announced his top nine schools and included the Hoosiers.

The other eight schools on his list are Arizona, Kansas, Maryland, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Virginia.

Allmond, the No. 30 player in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, is expected to announce his college decision on his birthday, October 13.

Cole Cloer: The 6-foot-8 wing recently announced his transfer to IMG Academy (Fla.) for his final high school season and has a final eight of Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, UConn and Virginia.

Cloer is regarded as the No. 29 prospect in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Thus far, Cloer has not set a date for an official visit to Bloomington. He has set trips to Louisville, Florida, UConn, North Carolina, and Alabama.

Taylen Kinney: The No. 15 prospect nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, the 6-foot-1 Kinney recently announced his top 12 schools: Arkansas, Auburn, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Oregon, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas and Xavier.

Kinney, a Kentucky native who plays at Overtime Elite, is scheduled to take an official visit to Bloomington in late August (29-31).

Miikka Muurinen: The Hoosiers are in the top seven schools for Muurinen, a native of Finland who attends Compass Prep in Arizona.

The top seven for Muurinen: Arkansas, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina and NC State. The 6-foot-10 forward is considered the No. 11 player nationally in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The next step for Muurinen will be setting up official visits and the Hoosiers are hoping to get him on campus this fall.

Marcis Ponder: Ponder, a 6-foot-11, 330-pound center, announced his final seven schools earlier this month.

The seven finalists include Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (FL), Providence and Texas. Ranked as the No. 72 prospect nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, has yet to make a visit schedule for this fall public.

Deron Rippey Jr.: The elite point guard from New Jersey has a list of 12 finalists and has set eight official visits. The Hoosiers are among the finalists and also have an official visit from Rippey Jr. scheduled.

The list for Rippey Jr. includes Alabama, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), North Carolina, NC State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Texas.

The 6-foot-2 Rippey Jr. is scheduled to visit Bloomington for an official visit on October 17-19. He’s currently ranked as the No. 16 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Luigi Suigo: The 7-foot-3 Suigo was on campus for an official visit in June and will play for KK Mega Basket next season.

A list of schools for Suigo has not been published.

Anthony Thompson: The 6-foot-8 five-star wing has a list of seven finalists and IU is in the mix.

The seven finalists for Thompson are Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue and Texas.

The next step for Thompson will be setting up visits. He has already been on the IU campus multiple times, having been recruited by the previous coaching staff. Thompson is rated as the No. 8 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Continuing to monitor closely

Aiden Derkack: The IU staff tracked Derkack closely in July and is hoping to get the 6-foot-5 wing on campus this fall for an official visit. At this point, Derkack, a 6-foot-5 wing, has not announced a list cut or a visit schedule. Derkack recently announced that he’s transferring to Spire Academy in Ohio for his senior season.

Arafan Diane: The 7-foot-1 center had a strong summer for Iowa United and is gearing up for his senior season at Iowa United Prep. Diane has a long list of suitors and offers and the next step in his process will be cutting down his list and scheduling visits.

Jordan Smith: One of the top prospects in the country, the 6-foot-2 Smith has set a couple of official visits, but hasn’t cut his list to this point. Given Kenny Johnson’s strong ties to Team Takeover, he’s a name to continue to monitor as the summer winds down.

Ethan Taylor: The 7-footer has yet to announce a list cut or a visit schedule, but the expectation is that he will include IU on his list and visit Bloomington this fall.
