Elite class of 2027 big man Sayon Keita to take IU basketball official visit
Elite class of 2027 center Sayon Keita is taking an IU basketball official visit on July 29, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com.
The 6-foot-11 Keita is visiting Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Duke, UNC and UConn. According to Givony, Keita may reclassify to 2026.
Here is the visit schedule for Keita:
Kansas – July 28
Indiana – July 29
Kentucky – July 30
Duke – July 31
UNC – August 1
UConn – August 2
He is a native of Bamako, Mali and currently plays for FC Barcelona.
Travis Branham of 247Sports had the following scouting report on Keita earlier this year:
“Just a month ago at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, Sayon Keita broke out as one of the best big men prospects in the 2026 class around the globe. The seven-footer has great size, length, and can really move his feet around the court. At the NBA Academy Games, he was the main attraction and continued to look like he has a case for the top big in the class.
“While he is still fairly raw on the offensive side of the ball, he is a game-changing defender who can anchor a defense with his mobility, length, and rim protection. He shows some flashes of upside to be a play-finisher and scorer on the block, but the defense he provides is glaring, with loads of potential to still tap into as he gets stronger and continues to develop.
“Keita is currently unranked, but looks like he has a real case to be a five-star international recruit.”
