After a 5-0 start in the FIBA U20 Eurobasket in Heraklion, Greece, Serbia stumbled over the weekend, losing games to Italy and France to finish in fourth place in the event.

Incoming IU freshman Aleska Ristic played a pivotal role for Serbia, starting all seven games over nine days.

With the FIBA U20 Eurobasket now concluded, Ristic will join the IU roster in Bloomington as the program’s 12th scholarship player.

Here’s a game-by-game look – as well as cumulative stats – for Ristic’s performances in Greece:

• July 12 vs. Israel (win) – 11 points, seven assists, one rebound and two turnovers in 27 minutes. Ristic shot 3-for-10 from the field, including 3-for-5 on 2s, 0-for-5 on 3s and 5-for-6 on free throws.

• July 13 vs. Slovenia (win) – Eight points, four assists, two steals, one rebound and one turnover in 29 minutes. Ristic shot 4-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-7 on 2s and 0-for-5 on 3s.

• July 14 vs. France (win) – 22 points, eight assists, one rebound and three turnovers in 33 minutes. Ristic shot 8-for-13 from the field, including 6-for-6 on 2s, 2-for-7 on 3s and 4-for-5 on free throws.

• July 16 vs. Ukraine (win) – 12 points, 11 assists, one steal and one blocked shot in 31 minutes. Ristic shot 4-for-11 from the field, including 2-for-6 on 3s, 2-for-5 on 3s and 2-for-2 on free throws.

• July 17 vs. Spain (win) – 12 points, five assists, one rebound and one turnover in 36 minutes. Ristic shot 2-for-11 from the field, including 0-for-4 on 2s, 2-for-7 on 3s and 6-for-6 on free throws.

• July 19 vs. Italy (loss) – Eight points, seven assists, four rebounds and five turnovers in 36 minutes. Ristic shot 3-for-11 from the field, including 2-for-6 on 2s, 1-for-5 on 3s and 1-for-2 on free throws.

• July 20 vs. France (loss) – Six points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a turnover in 32 minutes. Ristic shot 2-for-9 from the field, including 0-for-3 on 2s and 2-for-6 on 3s.

Total numbers: 11.3 points, 6.3 assists, 1.9 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 2.4 turnovers in 32.1 minutes per game.

Ristic shot 26-for-77 from the field (33.8 percent), including 17-for-37 on 2s (45.9 percent), 9-for-40 on 3s (22.5 percent) and 18-for-21 (85.7 percent) on free throws.
