IU basketball’s Aleksa Ristic records double-double as Serbia beats Ukraine, 75-61
Incoming IU basketball guard Aleksa Ristic had another strong performance today in the FIBA U20 Eurobasket in Heraklion, Greece.
The 6-foot-4 Ristic finished with 12 points and 11 assists as Serbia beat Ukraine 75-61 in the round of 16 on Wednesday. He also had a steal and a block in 31 minutes along with four turnovers.
The win improved Serbia’s record to 4-0 in the event and advanced them into the quarterfinals on Thursday against Spain.
Ristic shot 4-for-11 from the field, including a 2-for-5 mark on 3-pointers. He was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
Serbia was +13 with Ristic on the floor in the win.
Over four games in Greece, Ristic is averaging 13.3 points and 7.8 assists in 30 minutes per game. He is 11-for-13 from the free-throw line.
The 19-year-old Serbian is expected to join the IU basketball roster after the FIBA U20 Eurobasket. The event wraps up this Sunday.
