IU basketball’s Aleska Ristic helps lead Serbia to 2-0 start in FIBA U20 Eurobasket 2025
Incoming IU basketball guard Aleksa Ristic scored eight points on Sunday as Serbia cruised to a 98-54 win against Slovenia in the FIBA U20 Eurobasket 2025 in Heraklion, Greece.
The 6-foot-4 Ristic shot 4-for-12 from the field in 29 minutes. He was 4-for-7 on 2s and 0-for-5 on 3s. He also tallied four assists, two steals and a rebound.
Serbia was +27 with Ristic on the floor.
Through two games in Group D, Serbia is 2-0 with wins against Iceland and Slovenia. Serbia will play France, which is also 2-0, at 1:30 p.m. ET on Monday.
In two games in Greece, Ristic is averaging 9.5 points, 5.5 assists, one rebound, one steal and 1.5 turnovers in 28.2 minutes per game.
He’s 7-for-22 from the field, including a 7-for-12 mark on 2s and 0-for-10 on 3s. Ristic is 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
The 19-year-old will join the IU basketball roster after the FIBA U20 Eurobasket 2025.
