Assembly Ball, IU’s TBT alumni team, now up to eight former Hoosiers on roster
Assembly Ball, IU basketball’s alumni team in the TBT, made its debut last summer.
This summer, the team will have an even more substantial contingent of former Hoosiers than it did a year ago.
In recent weeks, Assembly Ball has announced a total of eight former Hoosiers for this year’s event, in addition to Christian Watford, who is listed as a player and GM.
After today’s announcement of Miller Kopp, the roster now includes Al Durham Jr., James Blackmon Jr., Jordan Hulls, Juwan Morgan, Kopp, Race Thompson, Troy Williams and Yogi Ferrell.
Former Hoosier guard AJ Guyton will also serve as an assistant coach.
The alumni team will again play at Hinkle Fieldhouse as the host of the Indianapolis Regional. Games will be played July 19-22. Tickets are available here.
According to a release from the TBT, the winner of the Indianapolis Regional will advance to the TBT Quarterfinals on July 29 and will play the winner of the Syracuse Regional. The semifinals will be held on July 31 and the TBT $1 Million Championship will be played on Aug. 3.
In addition, “this year the TBT will give each host team the opportunity to have home court advantage for the quarterfinals, semifinals and the $1 million championship game. Should two regional hosts face off, the tie breaker will be determined by which host sells 4,000 tickets the fastest.”
The full bracket is expected to be announced on Tuesday.
