Report: Indiana contacts Charleston transfer Ante Brzovic
According to a report published Wednesday afternoon, Indiana is on the lengthy list of schools to contact Charleston big man transfer Ante Brzovic.
Sam Keyser reported that the new Hoosier staff is in contact with Brzovic, a 6-foot-10, 225-pound lefty.
By NCAA rule, Brzovic’s eligibility has been exhausted as he competed for one season at the Division II level and three years at Division I. However, he is suing the NCAA in an attempt to gain another season of eligibility. You can read more about the lawsuit here.
The Croatian forward was named first-team All-CAA last season and averaged 18.3 points and shot 54.4 percent from the field. Brzovic also pulled down 8.1 rebounds per game.
He scored double figures in 29 of the 33 games he appeared in for the Cougars, who finished 24-9 under first-year coach Chris Mack.
Brzovic shot an efficient 54.4 percent from the field, 32.2 percent on 3-pointers and 66.9 percent from the free-throw line in 160 attempts.
He also dished out 2.8 assists and blocked one shot per game.
The CAA preseason player of the year, Brzovic had eight double-doubles, 14 games with at least 20 points and three games with 30 or more points.
He scored a career-high 39 points in a 119-116 double overtime win against Florida Atlantic on November 15.
