Video: Indiana sophomore Kel’el Ware impresses at Nike Skills Academy
Indiana sophomore big man Kel’el Ware is participating in the Nike Skills Academy this week in Portland, Oregon.
As one of 16 college players participating, Ware is getting the opportunity to play in front of NBA personnel. The event wraps up this weekend.
Through the first two days of the event, Ware is already drawing rave reviews from Jonathan Givony of ESPN and Draft Express.
In a series of videos shared Tuesday and Wednesday, Givony shared some favorable notes on Ware on social media.
“Not many 7-footers who move as fluidly and have the type of skill-level Kel’el Ware does,” Givony wrote Tuesday. “Good opening day for him at Nike Academy.”
And on Wednesday, Givony shared the following: “Kel’el Ware was impressive in drills again today at Nike Academy. Quick off his feet finishing lobs and diving out of pick and roll, with soft touch around the rim and out to 3.”

At the conclusion of his freshman season, Ware entered the transfer portal and committed to Indiana in early April.
