Former IU big man Thomas Bryant agrees to two-year contract with Miami Heat

Former Indiana big man Thomas Bryant has a new NBA home.

Bryant, a member of last season’s championship team with the Denver Nuggets, is joining the Miami Heat.

The deal is for two years and $5.4 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The second year of the deal is a player option.

The 25-year-old Bryant has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and the Nuggets over his six-year NBA career. The Rochester, New York native has amassed more than $28 million in career earnings.

Bryant left Indiana following the 2016-17 season. Over two seasons with the Hoosiers, he averaged 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He was a key piece of Indiana’s 2015-16 team that won an outright Big Ten championship.

In six NBA seasons, Bryant has career averages of 10.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
