Monday Notebook: Gary Harris shines at Super Showcase

+ Sunday was a big day in Orlando at the AAU Super Showcase for 2012 recruiting target Gary Harris as the Hamilton Southeastern senior put up 26 points and added eight rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots in a win over Rodney Purvis and the CP3 All-Stars in front of Tom Crean. + Indiana Elite opened Friday’s Super 64 event in Las Vegas with a 53-50 loss to Double Pump Elite and a 80-65 loss to Dream Vision and Shabazz Muhammad at Rancho High School. Elite also fell to the Atlanta Celtics on Saturday, 63-58, to finish their super pool with a record of 0-3. Tournament play at the Super 64 got underway on Sunday and Elite advanced to the round of 32 with a 84-60 win over Full Package Elite at Desert Pines High School. Elite has the potential for three games on Monday and begins play this morning at 10:20 a.m. local time against the DTA Devin Harris Superstars at Rancho.

+ Evan Daniels of Scout.com (premium link) reported that 2013 Indiana target Byron “Bo” Zeigler had Duke, Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State and Central Florida watching him in a Sunday game in Las Vegas. Zeigler also received a mention in the Rivals.com Sunday notebook from Vegas.

+ 2014 Indiana commitment Trey Lyles was impressive on the perimeter (premium link) at the St. Louis Summer Classic according to Scott Phillips of Scout.com.
