Podcast on the Brink: Previewing Michigan

  • 01/03/2012 1:40 pm in

Can the Hoosiers knock off another ranked opponent at home?

Podcast On The Brink discusses that and more this week with ESPN.com’s Wolverine Nation beat writer Michael Rothstein.

Fresh off their upset victory over No. 2 Ohio State, the Hoosiers face another tough test Thursday night in No. 16 Michigan (12-2). Matt Dollinger and Greg Rosenstein break down the matchup with Rothstein and talk about what challenges Indiana might face including Trey Burke, the Wolverines’ myriad defenses and the team’s collection of 3-point shooters.

On Friday, Podcast On The Brink will return with the latest verbal commitment to the Indiana basketball program – Class of 2013 big man Luke Fischer. We’ll discuss Luke’s decision to pledge to the Hoosiers and talk about his future in Bloomington.

Good call on not storming the court.  The first words out of my mouth as the clock expired were “Don’t storm the court, don’t storm the court, don’t storm the court.”  We can act like we’ve been there before because we actually have (#1 pUKe).

  • Peter

I second that. I was at the game and thrilled we didn’t rush the court. (I think it would have been a different story if students were there)

Well I made it two steps on the court before Calbert Cheaney tackled me…and then I just said, “thank you for being you Calbert”

Anyone hear an update on Sheehey?

Are you serious or just joking?  I realize he wouldn’t really tackle you, but that is funny.

  • Regular listen for me. Stuff like this makes me sometimes regret going into teaching instead of sticking with journalism.

I’m 100% joking, even though I wouldn’t mind a guy hug from the great Calbert…

I was sitting in the stands thinking the same thing as IUfanPurduePhD, “please don’t storm the court”

Not that it matters but one guy stormed the court…lol. I was laughing my ass off. He’s standing center court by himself trying tonged everyone to join him. Finally a cop asked him to get off the court. Very funny to me.

I thought we were playing the Jordan Bulls teams after listening to the Michigan beat writer.

  • Unfortunately, no. Played super close to the vest, which leads me to believe it’s a pretty bad sprain, and there’s just no way of knowing how long it’s going to take. The longer he’s out, the more his conditioning becomes an issue too.

  • 11th and Done (Dunn)

I hope this is on sports center tomorrow.

Methinks it’s the dreaded high ankle sprain…

One guy tried to run on that I saw and he got leveled by a ref running off the court.

I think every game for the Hoosiers becomes a match-up strategy. VO probably has to take Hardaway..that leaves the hot rookie Burke to Hulls/Jones..not good. All the MU’s guys can shoot the three..so Wat and CZ may be pulled away from the bucket on D..making it easier for the Wolves guards to drive. It’s never easy ..is it. Boy do they miss Sheheey’s defense..and yes..all indications are he has the dreaded high ankle sprain.
