Video of Bloomington South’s Jordan Hulls

Courier-Journal recruiting writer and friend of ITH Jody Demling produced the following video of Bloomington South senior-to-be Jordan Hulls:

I hadn’t seen Hulls play before watching this video, but he actually looks like a nice player. He can shoot it, he showed off his ability to pass and he looks scrappy, which I really like. He’s definitely a player to watch over the summer as he’ll get plenty of exposure playing with Indiana Elite.

And by the way, Chris Korman of the H-T/Hoosier Scoop is reporting that Hulls now has a Purdue offer after a visit with Matt Painter.

I love the way this guy plays reminds me alot of myself but obivously he does it better that behind the back pass was sick and it looks he drives the ball well and can shoot might not be a bad pick up but we need SIZE we have plenty of guards go after someone big

  • jgongora86

He is a nice looking point guard. That over the back pass was a thing of beauty. I hope he grows a bit, but I see a potential poor mans steve Nash in our hands. I just hope he grows a couple of inches. He can shoot three well enough to keep defenders honest so they won't guard the driving lane. He's going to be way better than Paulus. I think we should be happy if he choose IU. Great point guards are hard to resist. I don't want Suton to be honest. I would rather save that scholly for the loaded power forward class of 09. I don't want coach to make a respectable team for 08, I want him to build a team for a national championship in 2010.

I am sold…Jordan, stay home bro………we love you already.

  • Kelin Blab

I love Tom Crean and the recruits he has bought in BUT this may be our first disagreement if this happens….Maurice Sutton is the skinniest kid alive…see for yourself, he is at the very end of the highlight……………

I can't get excited about this guy. He's a midget. Surely there are biiger more athletic guards in his class. Let's get a couple of bigs from Indiana instead.

  • jgongora86

He's the same height as Chris Paul. Granted he's probably not as talented, but you don't have to be a giant to run the point. Though I do agree with you that we need bigs as well.

  • JHoosiers77

Anybody know how well he can defend? Good foot speed and I assume he can defend but can he break down the much bigger point guards he will face in the B10?

  • sutton is pretty skinny maybe more of a quick fix than anything….eli would of filled the role better

  • Somebody said the 2010 recruitng class in Indiana looked to be very good. I think if we have one or two scholarships for 2010 and we land a 5 star stud in our most needed position at the time……I think that would be alright. We've got a great supporting cast and the core of the team will be sophs and juniors. That would give us a well rounded mature team and if you get the right person we could be just fine in 10. So lets get sutton…..lets get van tresse or another quality power forward…..what the hell lets sign Hulls….then lets get the baddest 7'0 center there is in 2010 with dumes's scholly and lets win the whole damn thing.

Frankly all I saw were offensive highlights of course w no idea of his defensive ability. Also I thought the most impressive thing in the video was the way that team shared the ball ……….ie 2nd and 3rd passes after Hulls dished

  • JerryCT

i agree w most of you that we need some inside bangers for defense and to loosen up the 3pt arc. If we are aiming for 2009-10 then a big guy who is a project but can handle the ball is perfect for Crean.

I know we need bigs, but this might be a decent pickup. This kid has a solid pedigree of basketball. His grandfather was the shooting coach at West Point for the one and only Bob Knight. The video is short but it seems like he has a good basketball IQ. He can make every pass and is a lights out shooter. IU needs fundamentals. Just watching last year almost made me sick.

We need bigs!!! We all saw what kind of trouble we got in last year by not having any depth at the 4 and 5 spot, so why not grab another 6' nothing guard?

  • Ryan_T

I can't believe no one has compared this kid to the infamous Erik Suhr yet. Great basketball IQ (for a walk on), good speed, scrappy, could shoot the ball, and played with a lot of heart. One of my favorite walk-ons in IU history.

Sutton is skeletal! How does he not snap an arm off while playing?

  • woodpecker

I hope the Moore kid from Carmel is a Suhr clone!!!!

Do we have any film on Copobianco? Creek? Elston?

JORDAN IS A BEAST! IU is sure to do amazing this year with him and Maurice Creek
