Romeo Langford named to Wooden Award midseason top 25

Indiana freshman Romeo Langford is one of 25 midseason candidates for the John R. Wooden Award, the national advisory board for the award announced on Wednesday.

Through 15 games, Langford is averaging 18.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 33.1 minutes per game.

He’s one of seven Big Ten players to be named to the midseason top 25, joining Purdue’s Carsen Edwards, Michigan’s Ignas Brazdeikis, Nebraska’s James Palmer Jr., Minnesota’s Jordan Murphy, Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ and Michigan State’s Cassius Winston.

Calbert Cheaney was the last Hoosier to win the Wooden Award in 1993.
