Video: Trey Lyles in win over Broad Ripple

2014 IU commit and Arsenal Tech forward Trey Lyles scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds on Friday night in a 58-50 win at Indianapolis Broad Ripple.

Hanner Perea (La Porte La Lumiere): Did not play (ankle) in a 69-42 win over Gary West on Feb. 17.

Jeremy Hollowell (Lawrence Central): Thirty-three points in a 75-67 loss at Noblesville on Feb. 14 and 29 points in a 60-42 win at Southport on Feb. 17.

Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell (Park Tudor): Fifteen points in a 62-27 win over Indianapolis Lutheran on Feb. 14 and 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-57 win over Indianapolis Chatard on Feb. 17.

Peter Jurkin (United Faith Christian Academy, NC): Season is complete as United Faith Christian Academy has been banned from the state tournament.

Ron Patterson (Broad Ripple): Six points in a 58-50 loss to Indianapolis Tech on Feb. 17.

HD Video: Delaney, Lyles react to Tech’s IPSAC title

There’s a new king of the Indianapolis Public School athletic conference: Arsenal Tech.

The Titans moved to 14-4 and clinched a conference championship on Friday night with a 58-50 win at Broad Ripple in front of Gov. Mitch Daniels. Tech completed conference play with a perfect 6-0 record.

2014 Indiana commit Trey Lyles scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Tech. Ron Patterson, an IU signee, scored six points for Broad Ripple.

Inside the Hall caught up with Tech coach Jason Delaney and Lyles for their reaction to the school’s first IPSAC title since 2003:

Hanner Perea (La Porte La Lumiere): La Lumiere defeated Detroit Consortium (Mi.) 61-59 on Feb. 7, but no stats for Perea were available. Did not play due to a sprained ankle in a 65-62 win over St. John’s Military (Wis.) on Feb. 11.

Jeremy Hollowell (Lawrence Central): Twenty-seven points, including the game-winner at the buzzer, in a 59-56 win over Warren Central on Feb. 9. Twenty-eight points and nine rebounds in a 61-45 win over Mt. Vernon on Feb. 11.

Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell (Park Tudor): Seventeen points and 10 assists in an 81-40 win over Indianapolis Scecina on Feb. 8. Twenty-two points and six assists in a 53-48 win over Broad Ripple at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Feb. 11. (Video here.)

Peter Jurkin (United Faith Christian Academy, NC): Sixteen points in a 102-53 win over Statesville Christian on Feb. 7. Thirteen points, 12 rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 74-57 win over Flora McDonald on Feb. 9. Seventeen points and 20 rebounds in a 74-61 win at Upper Room on Feb. 11. Season is complete as United Faith Christian Academy has been banned from the state tournament.

Around the Hall: Blackmon Jr. out for the season

· 2014 Ft. Wayne Luers guard and Indiana commitment James Blackmon Jr. is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee over the weekend in a loss to Indianapolis Tech. Blackmon Jr. was averaging 25.1 points per game.

· Indiana is a No. 4 seed in the East bracket in the latest edition of Bracketology on ESPN.com. The Hoosiers are a No. 5 seed in the Bracket Matrix, which compiles every projection available.

· UMHoops looks at Big Ten efficiency margins in their weekly roundup from around the conference.

· John Stovall of ESPN.com delivers high praise (premium link) for Trey Lyles after Saturday’s recruit classic at Lawrence Central.

· Scout.com updated their 2012 class rankings and the Hoosiers come in at No. 3 nationally.

· The Big Ten Network has audio from Tom Crean’s weekly appearance on the conference’s coaches teleconference.

· Don Fischer joined Dan Dakich for his weekly appearance and talked about the Hoosiers’ big win in West Lafayette.

Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell (Park Tudor): Twenty-three points in a 63-35 win over Brebeuf Jesuit on Feb. 3.

Peter Jurkin (United Faith Christian Academy, NC): Eighteen points in a 74-60 win at North Hills Christian on Jan. 31. Team-high 20 points in a 101-65 win over Victor Christian on Feb. 3.

Ron Patterson (Broad Ripple): Twenty-six points in a 70-67 win at Indianapolis Manual on Feb. 3 and fifteen points in a 69-62 overtime loss to Warren Central at Lawrence Central on Feb. 4. Broke Broad Ripple’s all-time scoring record in loss to Warren Central. Patterson now has 1,419 career points.
