Podcast on the Brink: Don Fischer

Podcast On The Brink returns this week with a visit from legendary play-by-play announcer Don Fischer to discuss Indiana’s 11-0 start and his call of IU’s buzzer-beating victory over top-ranked Kentucky.

Fischer, who is in his 39th year as the “Voice of the Hoosiers,” gives his take on IU’s turnaround season as well as what its been like to cover the Hoosiers this season in comparison to the recent past. Fischer also gives an inside look into his call of Christian Watford’s game-winning three and talks about where the moment ranks personally in games he’s called over the years.

“The Voice” also compares Cody Zeller to Kent Benson and explains why the freshman might be ahead of the curve compared to the former great. Fischer goes into detail on why Zeller is so effective and points out other players who have been instrumental to IU’s success this season.

Podcast on the Brink: Reviewing Kentucky

With Saturday night’s upset still on everyone’s mind, Podcast On The Brink reviews Indiana’s win over No. 1 Kentucky with Inside The Hall’s Justin Albers and fan favorite ChronicHoosier.

Matt Dollinger and Greg Rosenstein discuss Christian Watford’s game-winning shot and the ensuing court storming and celebration on Kirkwood.

Albers talks about his interview with IU athletic director Fred Glass and what it was like inside Assembly Hall with one of the best atmospheres in recent memory.

Albers, an ITH writer and former Indiana Daily Student scribe, also weighs in on Watford’s huge game, Cody Zeller’s performance and what the scene is like in Bloomington after the Hoosiers’ win.

Finally, ChronicHoosier comes on the show to give his reaction and share what he saw from his seats Saturday. The three also go in depth about the IU-UK rivalry and Tom Crean’s watershed win.

Podcast on the Brink: Episode 5.1

Podcast On The Brink is back for our second episode this week.

Yahoo! Sports national college columnist Pat Forde joins the show to preview the Hoosiers’ showdown with the No. 1 Wildcats and discuss the program’s progress in its fourth season under head coach Tom Crean.

A former columnist for both ESPN.com and The Louisville Courier-Journal, Forde has covered the border battle many times but said Saturday will mark his first trip back to Bloomington in several years.

On today’s episode, Forde gives his take on Indiana’s 8-0 start and weighs in on the state of IU’s rebuilding project. Hosts Matt Dollinger and Greg Rosenstein also ask Forde about the health of the IU-UK rivalry and whether or not the Hoosiers will crack the top 25. And finally, Forde gives his two cents on whether or not Crean will eventually bring a sixth banner to Assembly Hall.

Podcast on the Brink: Episode 5

Kentucky week is among us and Podcast On The Brink is bringing you two episodes this week previewing Saturday’s border battle.

Today, Matt Dollinger and Greg Rosenstein host Inside The Hall founder and ESPN scribe Ryan Corazza to discuss Indiana’s showdown with No. 1 Kentucky along with his recent piece in ESPN The Magazine on Cody Zeller.

Matt and Greg also weigh in on Dan Dakich and Don Fischer’s recent discussion on the IU student section as well as a few things they’d like to keep out of Assembly Hall in addition to the color blue, per Tom Crean’s request.

With Ryan, the three breakdown the Hoosiers’ chances against the Wildcats and whether or not Kentucky is Indiana’s top rival. They also discuss what Zeller and Christian Watford have to do against the Wildcats to pull off the upset and give their predictions for this weekend’s game.

Podcast on the Brink: Episode 4

Much like Indiana basketball, Podcast on the Brink is back.

Matt Dollinger and Greg Rosenstein (who was at last night’s game) discuss IU’s 86-75 victory over NC State as well as the Hoosiers’ surprising 7-0 start this season.

The two also talk about Indiana’s tournament chances, fans’ reaction to the win, the curious tale of Christian Watford and what it was like to cover a game in Raleigh.

At the end of the show, the hosts take your questions from Twitter and debate how many games IU will win this season, whether or not the Hoosiers are a top 25 team and how the cream and crimson will do against Stetson (hint: win).

Podcast on The Brink: Thanksgiving Edition
