HD Video: Hollowell, Shelt react to LC’s loss to Pike

Jeremy Hollowell led Lawrence Central to the program’s first sectional title since 1998.

And for a time on Saturday morning inside historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, the Mr. Basketball candidate and IU signee looked to be putting his team in position to play for a regional championship.

But Hollowell and the Bears (17-7) couldn’t overcome the hot second half shooting of Pike’s R.J. Hunter, who finished with a game-high 27 points, and fell 74-68 in a Class 4A regional semifinal. Hollowell finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Hollowell, Mosquera-Perea and Patterson to play in Derby Festival Classic

2012 Indiana signees Jeremy Hollowell, Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Ron Patterson will play in the 2012 Derby Festival Classic at Freedom Hall in Louisville on Friday, April 6.

All three will be teammates on the White roster and will also participate in the Horseshoe Foundation Night of Future Stars on Thursday, April 5, at New Albany High School.

“This is one of the strongest lineups in the recent history of the Derby Festival Basketball Classic,” said Mike Gandolfo and Keith Conrad, the event’s co-recruiting chairs, in a release. “We expect it will be a highly entertaining and competitive game. Many of the top programs in the country are represented on the roster and we know the players will have great success at the next level.”

Basketball Classic tickets are $11 and $16 (includes $1 facility fee) and are available at TicketMaster locations or ticketmaster.com, by phone (800-745-3000) or the Freedom Hall box office (502-367-5144).

Ferrell, Hollowell and Mosquera-Perea to play in All-American Championship

2012 Indiana signees Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell, Jeremy Hollowell and Hanner Mosquera-Perea will play in the 2012 All-American Championship in New Orleans, LA during Final Four weekend.

Both Ferrell and Mosquera-Perea competed in the event last year. They were teammates on the North team that fell 93-91 to the South on April 3. Ferrell scored two points and dished out five assists and Mosquera-Perea had 10 points and nine rebounds.

All three will play together for the North team against the South on April 1 at Lakefront Arena.  Tickets are on sale now and information can be found here. Full rosters for the event are listed here.

They’ve been friends for many years off the court, but future teammates Jeremy Hollowell and Ron Patterson were foes on Feb. 20 when Broad Ripple visited Lawrence Central.

Patterson finished with a game-high 23 points, but it was Hollowell’s 18 points and career-high 20 rebounds that led Lawrence Central to a 60-55 win.

Jeremy Hollowell‘s senior night yielded an effort he may never forget.

The Indiana signee scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds as Lawrence Central beat Broad Ripple 60-55 on Tuesday night. It was the final regular season game for both teams.

Ron Patterson finished with a game-high 23 points and six rebounds for Broad Ripple.
