What sophomore in HS isn’t a little awkward?

Stupid comment. You probably would have said the same thing about Bryant McIntosh.

I went back and watched McIntosh recruiting video (it’s on You Tube) and he actually looked quite smooth. However, I’m not going to get bent out of shape because we didn’t land McEntosh. The guy has never shot 40% or better on 3’s, according to Sports Reference he rates as a slightly below average defender, he does have a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio so that’s a plus for him. Instead of McIntosh we got two top 100 players in JBJ and Johnson. If anyone tries to act like they didn’t want JBJ coming out of high school they are lying. JBJ had a career 3 pt percentage of 41.5% and if we are comparing his defense to McIntosh here is how the stats line up. JBJ in 3 years had 2 defensive win shares and a -.9 defensive box plus/minus. McEntosh in 3 years had 3.4 defensive win shares and a -.3 box plus/minus. So neither player is exactly a defensive stopper. JBJ also had a PER of 22.6, McIntosh had 15.9. Through there first three years in college JBJ had a total win share of 9.7 despite missing most of his sophomore year and McIntosh had 9.3 through his first three years. In case you are wondering Johnson PER is 14, Win Shares is 7.5, defensive win shares is 2, defensive box plus/minus is 2. So you could conclude that McIntosh has had a slightly better college career than Johnson. Again though coming out of high school Johnson was a much higher rated player than McIntosh so I’m not going to get too upset with Crean that he choose to go after Johnson.

Sorry for the off topic response but are you the same IUBizmark in the r/collegebasketball subreddit?
