Are we pursing Bol Bol? Just saw his name pop up on an ESPN article. He’s 7’2″ and a top 20 prospect in 2018. Might be a good fit with our lack of depth

  • N71

I happened to look at Indiana’s sports 247 board and clicked on Romeo, it seems our chances with him are slowly improving. Louisville is still way out in front but we’re slowly chipping away.

  • Tim Priller Is My Spirit Anima

We’re too late to that party. He’s been a big recruiting name in 2018 for years now, he’s from California, and he’s a guaranteed one and done. He’s gonna end up on the west coast at UCLA or USC, or at UK or Kansas.

  • Outoftheloop

A true 5 Star Center, Mitchel Robinson, has been given his release by Western KY. He would be a freshman this August. His status with the NCAA as to whether he must sit out a year or not is unclear. He is a talent. IU has no room for him in 2017, but does for 2018. Too bad!

  • marcusgresham

I don’t know that Louisville is ahead of anybody—all them being ahead on 247 means is that more reporters who contribute to that site assume he’ll go to Louisville. Anyone who claims to have any info on where Romeo is going is either lying or misinformed because no one in that family is saying anything.

  • Atl golf nut

Which is perfect, because Romeo is likely making his decision many months down the road and if the trend continues, IU can be the favorite at the time he selects his school!

  • John D Murphy

It’s going to be awhile before they sort through that. He just needs to head overseas before he loses the season. Or he could sign a G league club, he just wouldn’t be affiliated with the big team.

  • WhatsUpKnight2.0

does priller have any younger brothers?

  • bball at nick’s

That’s why they call it a Crystal Ball!

  • Outoftheloop

Why should he go Pro when no NBA team wants him? Some good college program will gobble him up.

  • Outoftheloop

So IU should offer him now! Late is not out until he commits.

  • John D Murphy

He had already enrolled. Probably won’t be eligible until second semester next year. He isn’t eligible to play in nba this year. So he can either sit, play in g league or go abroad. He will be a top 5 pick in draft regardless

  • Tim Priller Is My Spirit Anima

That would be the definition of “spreading ourselves out too thin,” which is exactly what Archie doesn’t want to do.

  • Outoftheloop

There are also basketball prep schools and JUCO programs. Further, there is no “probably” about the NCAA eligibility. It looks 50/50 right now.

  • Outoftheloop

That is nonsense. He would be the only 5 that IU is recruiting for 2018.

  • HoosierHeel

No, coming in this late and expecting to beat all of the blue bloods that have been after him for years would be “nonsense.” And we are recruiting Moses Brown, a 5, that we actually have a shot with.

  • Outoftheloop

Who said anything about “expecting to beat”? I expect to compete by offering a great recruit. What happens is yet to be seen. However, without offering there is zero chance for him to accept. So I find your rejoinder to be “nonsense”. Why does no IU Recruiting Board for the class of 2018 mention Moses Brown? I know nothing about him. Please provide whatever information that you have on Mr Brown. Thanks.

  • John D Murphy

You’re right about prep/Juco but why would a lottery pick play prep or juco instead of g league this year. He’s not going to play in college next year.

  • HoosierHeel

    What?
You offer a guy in order to get him. Not just toss your hat into the ring an “compete.” It would be a waste of time and resources to enter a recruitment like Bol’s at this point in the game. You post on here so I assume you follow this stuff somewhat, but even if not it’s kind of common sense. Come on, man. I used your word nonsenss because you said it to the otther guy when he was giving a sound opinion.

This very board mentions him. Google him for more info. It’s a bit of a long shot but nothing like throwing an offer at a guy like Bol.

  • Outoftheloop

Good points if hereslly is a lottery talent next year.

  • HoosierHeel

What? You offer a guy in order to get him. Not just toss your hat into the ring and “compete.” It would be a waste of time and resources to enter a recruitment like Bol’s at this point in the game. Sean would mock Archie for doing that. You post on here so I assume you follow this stuff somewhat, but even if not it’s kind of common sense. Come on, man. I used your word “nonsense” because you said it to the other guy when he was giving a polite, sound opinion to an ignorant post.

This very board mentions Brown. Look him up for more info. It’s a bit of a long shot but he could visit.
