Class of 2018 South Bend Riley and Meanstreets forward Damezi Anderson became the second player to commit to the Hoosiers on Monday afternoon.

The talented small forward averaged 9.8 points over the weekend for Meanstreets in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) finals at the Peach Jam.

Check out more than two minutes of highlights from the event below:

Looks like pure scorer, not much film of anything else. Hopefully he can defend and rebound! He looks like he could develop a lot during his senior season. Great pick up Coach! Does this mean Romeo is probably not going to choose IU?

I would think this would only help with Romeo. Anderson is a great shooter and more of a bruiser and gritty type player from what I’ve seen and read. Anderson has already commented that he is going to work on getting Robert Phinesee to come to Bloomington as well. I think Anderson could help recruit Romeo as well.

I was just gonna post that it seemed like the hip-hop highlight was a thing of the past… guess I was wrong, lol…

    A fun day for sure.

Damezi Anderson: 6’6″ 190, 4-star, South Bend, won’t be attending Purdue
Jerome Hunter: 6’7″ 195, 4-star, Columbus, OH area, won’t be attending OSU or UM
Race Thompson: 6’8″ 200, 4-star, Minneapolis area, won’t be attending Minnesota

I’d be happy with just these three if Devonte can play the entire game.

Cant help but be reminded of Antoine Walker when seeing his shot

  • SCHoosier

Pretty damn good spot up shooter from 3 and in. Anybody know if he can actually put the ball on the floor and score in transition?

  • Mark Bando

all three guys look like they can shoot from three and from mid range and score around the bucket.

  • HoosierOne

He’s a baller. He runs the fast break well and can jump. Surprised their weren’t more dunks in the highlight reel as I’ve seen him ally ooping all over the palce in games.

  • Outoftheloop

No. Romeo is his own separate universe! If IU has an open scholarship when he wants to choose a school, we are in the mix!

  • SilentBob

Man this kid can really fill in the gaps without the ball. From the looks of this video he really has a level of court awareness that can’t be taught. Add in the touch and physical profile and you have to feel pretty comfortable with his potential as a college player.

Holy crap was that a shot fake!

  • Dialogos68

Anderson looks like a 3, but shoots like he could play the 2….

  • All of our commits so far are wings. Romeo’s a shooting guard, so in addition to his being Romeo, there’s also plenty of room for him. Seems like he’s getting more possible every day as Duke and UK seem to be pulling back a bit. Could come down to us and UL, and if so then I like those odds. Particularly if we get Phinisee to go with Anderson and there’s a nice Indiana connection to build on.

I am truly NOT a shot doctor, but something seems inconsistent with his feet or legs when he shoots. Can’t be too bad though, he made every shot he attempted. lol
