Indiana junior Robert Johnson will return to Bloomington for his senior season, Inside the Hall has confirmed.

Jon Rothstein first reported the news on Tuesday morning.

Johnson, who averaged 12.8 points per game for Indiana last season, entered his name in the 2017 NBA draft but did not hire an agent. The deadline to withdraw from the draft is May 24.

The 6-foot-3 guard will be Indiana’s leading returning scorer next season.

The Hoosiers lost three players – OG Anunoby, Thomas Bryant and James Blackmon Jr. – to the NBA draft. Johnson’s return means that Indiana has 13 scholarship players on the 2017-18, which is the NCAA limit.

Johnson started 32 of Indiana’s 34 games last season and is just 22 points from 1,000 for his career.

The Richmond (Va.) native shot 37 percent on 3-pointers last season and 75.5 percent from the foul line and also averaged 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 29.4 minutes per game.

Johnson’s return should give Archie Miller a solid guard rotation to build his first Indiana team.

In addition to Johnson, the Hoosiers are expected to return Josh Newkirk, Curtis Jones and Devonte Green and will add freshman Al Durham Jr.

Update: In a Twitter post, Johnson said that no final decision has been reached regarding his decision and that he’s still in the draft process.
