Via its official social media accounts, Indiana released two more offseason workout videos this week. On Wednesday, it was a shooting workout with Collin Hartman and on Thursday evening, a guard workout.

On Wednesday afternoon, Archie Miller told local columnists that he wants the program to have a cutting edge presence on social media. It appears that directive is well underway:

So is no one transferring??? That would be huge if that the case!!!

  • IU Cal 1809

Only one I haven’t seen is Galon in these videos

Huge benefit or huge problem? We’re over by 3 by the way.

Ya no matter what the case AM is going to have 9-10 man rotation. Once TC was let go I had no idea who would stay. Pretty happy so far.

CAM has to be looking forward…2018-2019 has us losing several players to graduation so we need these recruits this year to be sophomores with maybe a big name 1 and done like Romeo ect.

Is it possible with the scholarships to keep everyone except OG including the three 2017 recruits?

  • Shaggy_C

Nope. With Collin, we have 13 returning players and 3 incoming players. One way or another, three guys have to leave. OG to the NBA is only 1/3 of the puzzle.

Don’t know if it has actually happened before or if its even within NCAA rules but I have frequently heard in the past that there’s a possibility that a player gives up their scholarship and essentially becomes a walk on. Again don’t know how much truth their is to this, but I remember that there was a rumor floating around that Hulls was considering doing this his Senior year

Archie will have a pretty big 2018-19 class size. With graduation, possible transfer(s), and early NBA departures, the class size can be from 6-8. That’s good because he can start getting his kind of guys pretty quickly, but bad because of the imbalance in class sizes.

We are only over signed if everyone comes back and all three recruits stick with IU. I read that Al Durham has made up his mind to stick with his IU commitment. I think that’s fantastic.

  • TomJameson

They can do this. What they can’t do is switch from the athletic scholarship to an academic one.

  • TomJameson

I think three will leave in some manner. Probably 3 to the NBA and 1 to a transfer. These things really do work themselves out, not worried in the least.

  • Donnie Vick

So the Creaning continues…another question. I’ve read that Smith is thinking things over…does that indicate that he might not have any PT or a spot available? Surely he’d be the one we’d want to keep of the 3.

Gotta say these videos are getting me pumped up! 16 days until the NBA deadline and none of the 3 have declared yet. I would say +90% of those coming out (even to test) have already declared and none of our guys have yet. Very curious.

Coach can still put some snap on a pass
