Archie Miller has been on the job in Bloomington for eight days now, but interest in the new Indiana coach remains high on a national level.

Miller was a guest on College Sports Now, The Ride with JMV, The Newy Scruggs Show and Steve Gorman Sports earlier this week and we’ve got audio of all four interviews below:

Best part was Archie confirming that Candy Stripe warmups are here to stay

  • Hee hee… I thought exactly the same thing.

Classic Archie “50% of power 5 schools stink at basketball…. just because you have a football stadium on your campus doesn’t mean you’re any good.”

  • Yeah, caught that one too. As he loosens up (maybe just gets a LITTLE tired of answering the same questions over and over), I think we’re seeing some of his personality coming out.

The Ride was a great interview.

The last 3-4 minutes of the NBC interview is excellent commentary on the program (no Arch in that part.)

IU Basketball has once again become a source of comfort and joy for me. Hey, I listen to Archie interviews on my evening walks on the beautiful IU campus, LOL. I feel that wherever we go with wins/losses and recruiting in the next few years at least I’ll know that we have the right leadership and doing the daily things that we need to do. I still haven’t gotten over the thrill of hiring Archie. I feel proud of the choice we made. In retrospect, I’m glad we didn’t go for the glitzy $7 million choice of a Billy Donovan or his like. We absolutely needed a young guy who will grow with the program and call it home for the next 25-30 years.

I believe Archie is trying to set the record for most interviews in a month. Someone should interview him about his interviewing stamina.

Been thinking the same thing. He seems to be getting more comfortable and I seem to be buying into him more and more. The thing I’ve been digging is that I believe he’s sincere in what he’s been saying and it’s not just lip service. None of us know if he’ll win a championship or not but I will say it seems like there is legitimate leadership within the program again.

What I like about coach is that he brings something a little different to each interview. Very eloquent in a b-ball sort of way with very little “coach speak.” If you don’t think this guy knows his b-ball…you’d be foolin’ yourself.

He’s strong and firm, but not rude. That’s what I like about him.

  • Pretty dry sense of humor, too.

  • I can imagine the players are responding well to his approach, too. Clearly, he knows what he’s talking about, and he’s done it all himself as a player at a high level, too.

If you have been keeping up with Archie’s interviews and your not excited about where Indiana basketball is going I just dont know what to say to change your mind!
    I am stoked 100%.

Blue collar, coaches son who has played at a high level. If I am a recruit, I would sign on the dotted line and never look back.
