· Thoughts on the team North Carolina is bringing to Bloomington
· Some numbers that stand out for both teams

· Who the key matchups are for Indiana besides Joel Berry
· The importance of James Blackmon Jr. for Indiana on Wednesday

    Another great podcast. Thanks guys.

Yes, Zach will not look to score. Bigger issue, he doesn’t rebound well. I liked what I saw from McFly against MVSU; defended, rebounded and scored inside. Has the physicality to compete with the big boys. Need to get him minutes early in the season in big games if we want him to contribute down the stretch.

Agree with putting pressure on Berry by making him guard. Love to see our guards post him up.

Btw – I just used Seat Geek for the IU vs Illinois game. It was actually pretty awesome. Never used it before. Thanks! Keep the podcasts coming 🙂

  • Glad you had a positive experience. Thanks for the feedback.

  • Thanks BL4IU. Podcast is a lot of fun to do each week.

Agree with the kind words for Zach! Enough said. also agree with the front line, Juwan is to me the closest one to Hartman, they all need to be more assertive, finish through contact and the calls will come, (maybe some shot fakes would help).
JBJ is not a pg, love his shooting and drives to bucket with a finish.
Team needs to get better at FT % especially down the stretch.
    Turnovers,

  • So, if JBJ is out, then what’s the starting lineup? I’d go with RJ, CuJo, JM, OG, and TB.

  • I’m getting nervous for this one already. I’d say a lot depends on this week’s practices, and that Newkirk maybe edges out Curtis for the start. Assuming JBJ don’t play.

  • I’m _very_ nervous. And honestly, I hope that CuJo could be a wildcard here. He’s shown some real flashes of greatness, not just against KU. I know it’s a lot to ask of a freshman, but I think I might like him starting with JR over JN–he seems to be a better finisher than JN, definitely a better outside shooter, and even a better ball handler and passer. He also plays good defense.

Without JBJ in most games I might would like JN getting most of the minutes but against NC I also would rather see CuJo the kid is not afraid of the big stage. Would like to see him play with the same chip on his shoulder that he played with in the KU game. He was just relentless!!!

  • I dunno. I think CuJo has more upside than JN, and so I’d like to see JN in the backup role. CuJo has ice in his veins, and I think he’s more likely to step up in a game and take on scoring from the guard position. We need someone playing with an edge, and I think that’s been CuJo as much as anyone so far this season.

I really think that JBJ should be ready to go for the UNC game, yeah maybe not 100 percent but the energy in the building should hype him enough to go out there and ball. We really need him! I think we can win despite being underdogs and man it would be so awesome to get two top 3 wins in November itself. Lets dot this! Hoosiers by 8!!!

  • Ms hoosier

Even if JBJ plays I would still like to see CuJo get significant minutes in this game IU is gonna need as much scoring as they can get in this game!!

  • sd chuck

Yeah, would be fine with CUJO! Love what I’ve seen so far. Will make better decisions as time goes on!

I’m with you on that! All the way!!!!

    Win this one IU!

I think those of you going to the game should give a Hoosier warm welcome to Roy & North Carolina. The hall should be our sixth man for 2+ hours.

I agree. It’s going to be a great game win or lose, we might as well show UNC some Hoosier hospitality. The funny thing is, we don’t even need to say that…that’s just how we are. I may live in Florida, but I never forget where I’m from.
