Class of 2016 Crown Point wing and Indiana signee Grant Gelon was in action on Tuesday night as the Indiana All-Stars beat the Junior All-Stars, 118-96, at Bloomington South.

Gelon finished with five points on 2-of-6 shooting in 14 minutes. He also added six rebounds, an assist, a steal, two blocks and committed one turnover.

We’ve compiled video from his performance on Tuesday, which is available below:

has a nice shot and a quick release, definitely some skills there for CTC to work with.

My takeaway: he seemed to enjoy defense.

Well, we knew it would be a short video. lol

I think, with a little work with the shot doctor, his shot could develop into a very good percentage. Eventually, a NZ with a defensive mindset??

And before anyone starts jumping all over my a$$ for supporting GG too much, I didn’t say he was going to come to IU this year and set the court on fire. Just think this guy can actually develop under the coaching, and playing with, this team.

On the contrary Tom. GG is easily my favorite get of this class. He’s an Indiana kid, he’s a 6-5 shooter, and he’s a 4 year player (hopefully). Whats not to like?

    Unlike the IU football team…

A lot. GG has little midrange, ballhandling or driving to the hoop skills. GG shot very few free throws his last 2 years of high school, and few 2 point baskets. . GG was not even the best player on his team. GG is taking a scholarship up for at least 2 years without contributing. Was he the best player that CTC could have recruited for this year and the future? I believe no way. I was at the Warren Central game where he hit 2 free throws, the entire game, and you would not have even known he was on the floor for 29 minutes.

Like to see some tape on what Nick looked like before freshman year and also want to see Grant after a couple years of workout program building some IU muscle

I saw many posts like this about CH. blah blah blah.

I think more people were worried about Hartmans health and for good reason.

For good roster management you need to take a few shots at long term projects. They don’t all work but if you only go 4 and 5 stars you get a lot of transfers and instability and may not fill out the roster anyway as they may not go your way. I’d like to see more stability and I think Crean does too. With some of the spectacular hits this staff has earned our patience.

    Well said.

I don’t remember hartman having injury issues in high school. I specifically remember people whining about his lack of athleticism and that he had no business getting an iu scholly.
