OG to me is very similar to Jae Crowder without the bulk. If he is really a top 20 pick then he is gone too and rightfully so. No reason to turn down the guaranteed money. We will see how good he is next week, UNCs front court is a different animal than UK.

Was a great weekend, UNC will be a very tough game…Bryant cannot get in foul trouble

Victor went pro after his Junior year c’mon guys!

I believe the 20th pick mention was part of a way to early mock for 2017, not 2016. Not sure if teams have seen enough of him offensively to burn a first round on him at this point. Though it is an extremely weak class. The further we march the higher he will climb I’m sure.

OG has the wingspan of a Wandering Albatross.

In my eyes, we’re on a 7 game winning streak. IU has had an “overlook the conference tournament” mentality since Knight. Knight thought it was a moronic idea and wouldn’t coach those games with passion and was very lax on the likes of Guyton, Haston, and Gladness before, during, and after those games. I think that mentality has definitely stuck with IU. The regular season title is the only title, and then your prepare for THE tournament.

Conference tournaments are there for the committee’s ignorance but, in turn, distorts their views of teams…

Thanks for the podcast. i look forward to it every week.

I’m so glad CTC didn’t push our players in that tournament. Robert and Juwan are fragile enough as is.

Exactly. While I think the Michigan loss still has an effect on young players’ minds, I think Crean and everyone else involved in the program knows the conference tournament is the one thing in existence that the IU fan base doesn’t care much about.

The next four days will be the calm before the Friday storm.

I think the only way he is top 20 is if IU makes a final four run and he is a big part of that. The NBA doesn’t draft like MLB. They want a player that can contribute this year or next.

Love the pod cast… I rarely miss them.

I hate the conference tournament before the NCAA. I do however think it is not a bad idea if was played be before BIG 10 conference begins. It wouldn’t take any more time. It would also remove the automatic bids for conference tournament Champs.

The importance of these conference tournaments varies from team to team and year to year. I don’t think you can say that a school across the board does not value it. Obviously for us this year, we had no motivation to win it because of many reasons (injuries, winning conf. outright already, etc.). In previous years, it’s meant a ton to use as we were having to use it to punch a ticket into the field of 68 (or whatever it is now).

On the flip side, UM used their game with us to essentially jump some teams to get into the NCAAs (a few of them were SEC teams so I’m happy). The conf. tourney essentially gave UM that one last chance to get in, otherwise they would be playing in the NIT.

Bottom line is that they bring in some ratings, provide some great stories for teams trying to claw their way into the big one, but basically does nothing for teams already comfortably in the field. I could do without them.
