• Can anyone believe, MSU bites the dust? I know it’s not a topic of these interviews, but… I can’t believe it..

I never would have guessed it. I had them in the final 4. That’s what makes March Madness so exciting. You have got to bring it every game. I’m glad there’s not many picking the Hoosiers to go to the final 4 so they won’t get too far ahead of themselves and lose focus on the next opponent.

  • Ms hoosier

All Mich St has heard for the last month is how good they are and how Izzo team are geared and ready for March and I don’t know how many games they have won in a row but they haven’t lost in a while and sooner or later in college basketball your going to lose

Love when Troy was asked about UK’s bigs, he goes into talking about our bigs. Boys sound ready and focused. Go Hoosiers!!!

Lot of discussion about UK setting a block record last night and the suggestion we haven’t faced this type of rim protection this year. First, SB was a very small team. Second, in conference play UK averaged 5.44 blocks per game. Mary averaged 6.11. MSU and OSU both averaged 4.8 blocks per game. This is not the first time we faced shot blockers.

Lot of respect for Izzo but a reminder that even the best coaches can lose in the first round; and with the 2nd ranked team in the country. Puts a little perspective on our loss to SU in the sweet 16.

OG escapes the locker room video duties again. Heard he was still on the floor working on a new dunk routine 🙂

  • Yes.. and if you factor in, IU wasn’t exactly at full strength with Jordy’s shoulder at the time.. He certainly was not able to shoot with that brace on as he usually had that year.. Anyway, expectations for MSU were extremely high.. not only among the MSU team internally, B1G Network guys, but on a national level, many thought this thing would come down between MSU and Kansas…. So this has to be a really hard pill for them to swallow. Man I can’t tell ya how badly I want IU to really come together tonight and spill Kentucky and then play like we know they can the rest of the tourney.. They could be right in this thing.

  • I agree, and they can say hat they want.. Izzo wouldn’t come out and say they were lacking in energy, but they did not play with the same energy and physicality that they showed when we played them at Bresslin in February. They allowed Middle Tennessee to get out to a big early lead and to feel they could be competitive in that game and then they just couldn’t get that turned around. In his post game Izzo wouldn’t say they were out hustled, because it was over for them.. There would be nothing to gain from a statement like that, except cause hard feelings with a team he obviously loved. But in fact, I saw most of that game and MSU looked about as flat as they did when Iowa beat them during the B1G season in Lansing. Several times they turned it over with unforced errors right at the time they were trying to get back into the lead, near the end of the game.. and it always led to MTS getting a basket or fouled and making free throws to go back up by five.. So, No matter what they say, MSU did not play their best when they needed to. They looked like a team that expected to win, not a team that had ‘fire in their pants’ and doing everything humanly possible to pull that one out. JMO, but that’s my take on what I saw.
