Podcast on the Brink is back for a second episode this week with host Jerod Morris of The Assembly Call. You can access a full archive of episodes here.

In this week’s bonus edition of the show, Morris and Inside the Hall editor Alex Bozich are joined by WDRB.com sports columnist Rick Bozich to preview Indiana’s game against Chattanooga and to look ahead to a potential matchup on Saturday with Kentucky.

Among the topics discussed:

· What IU needs to improve upon from its Big Ten tournament loss to Michigan
· Expectations for the Hoosiers entering the tournament
· Whether or not IU got a favorable matchup with Chattanooga
· The keys – on both sides – in a potential Indiana-Kentucky game
· Which players need to play well for Indiana to advance
· Final Four picks
· Adjustments, if any, that Tom Crean needs to make entering the tournament
· What makes Michigan State such a good NCAA tournament team

And plenty more. As always, feel free to drop the show a note at jerod@assemblycall.com.

awesome having a second podcast this week. the scUM loss did put a bit of a damper on things, but i still can’t get enough iu coverage right now!

my biggest takeaway, people both inside and outside hoosier nation agree CTC has a lot to prove as far as what his teams can do in march. he may not be on the hot seat, but feels almost like a make or break season as far as his legacy is concerned.

I wish they had a guest on that really understood how good Indiana is. My least favorite show in a while.

He mentioned at 22:16 a break in Hartman’s shooting hand… anyone have more info/an update?

I’m surprised with your take. I’m not arguing with you – just surprised. Rick is one of my favorite sports writers and I always appreciate what he has to say. I’m sure he’s watched every Indiana game this year and I think he probably understands our team pretty well. I thought his breakdowns were pretty solid. Again, I’m not arguing with you at all – just wondering if you could share a specific or two where you thought he didn’t understand or was wrong about us?

  • IULore

Yes, but his outtake on IU is pretty grim. He overvalues UK severely and I don’t think Chatanooga is very good at all. If they press us we will put 100 on them. I just think this was an unnecessarily negative preview.

Thanks for the response. I understand your points. I guess I didn’t take it nearly as negative as you did. I agree with you that Chattanooga might end up regretting it if they try pressing us the whole game, but I do think they might be a handful. They are all seniors and juniors and have been playing together for several years and they have some size and skill. I think Indiana will beat them though and be ready to give UK a hard time. I’m not sure I agree about Rick overvaluing UK, though – they’ve gotten healthy and are playing much better of late. Most national critics say they are under-seeded. I still think we win, though, if we are 100% healthy.
