Film Session: Nebraska
Early in the possession, Bryant looks to give Johnson a ball screen and Johnson drives left. Williams heads from the right corner up top to fill the vacated space:
As Johnson gets down near the left block, both Watson and Bryant’s man, Jake Hammond, have their hands up on a double team. Williams’ man, Jack McVeigh, has his back to Williams watching the double team:
As Johnson gets out of trouble and passes it back up top to Williams, the junior is coming to the ball down hill and already starting to get going as McVeigh scrambles back:
Williams’ full head of steam is too much for McVeigh and he blows by him:
Williams uses his athleticism to sky up over Hammond for the bucket:
Two plays where Nebraska doubled on the left block. Two plays where Williams acted as the safety valve up top, had space and attacked. Good stuff.
