Film Session: Notre Dame
After O.G. Anunoby’s putback slam, Indiana begins its defensive possession in a 2-3 zone:
When Colson gets the ball this time off the right wing, Max Bielfeldt is closer and Anunoby has a body closer to Auguste, too:
Colson still makes the pass, but Auguste can’t just simply lay it in this time and the ball finds its way back up top:
Indiana starts looking more man the rest of the way here. Demetrius Jackson makes a move off the perimeter on Nick Zeisloft, but Ferrell hawks in from the wing and strips the ball. Jackson is able to recover the possession for Notre Dame:
Vasturia gets the ball from Jackson and drives in off the right wing. But Ferrell is able to recover to him and knock the ball out of his hands on the drive. The Irish only have four seconds left on the shot clock and call a timeout:
Vasturia inbounds the ball to Auguste:
Auguste looks to hand off to Vasturia, who’s come behind him off the pass. But Bielfeldt has jumped the passing lane and it throws Auguste off:
The hand off never happens. Auguste tries making a move closer to the hoop for a shot, but he’s still on his feet as the shot clock expires. IU ball:
Lots of good stuff here. Better protection of the middle. Great on-ball work from Ferrell on two opponents. Heady work from Bielfeldt to finish it off.
