LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Class of 2016 Huntington Prep (W.V.) and Boo Williams guard Curtis Jones has a date set for his official visit to Bloomington.

At the AAU Super Showcase at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, the 6-foot-3 combo guard said he’ll be on campus the weekend of Aug. 28-30.

It will be the second trip to Indiana for Jones, who previously visited in June. He hopes to go more in-depth with the players and the staff on this trip.

“(I want to) get a better feel,” he told Inside the Hall on Friday. “I’ll be there for a longer period of time so I’ll talk to the players and see how they like things.”

Jones is also expected to take official visits to Georgetown and Oklahoma State, but hasn’t finalized dates for either of those trips. He mentioned Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Florida, Pittsburgh and Penn State as the other schools involved in his recruitment.

Indiana will host five-star forward Miles Bridges, a close friend and high school teammate of Jones, on the same weekend. The duo played with IU freshman Thomas Bryant last season at Huntington Prep.

“I haven’t talked to Thomas too much,” Jones said. “But when I saw him on the visit (in June), he was liking everything.”

In a conversation with Inside the Hall’s Ryan Corazza earlier this month, Jones pointed out a close relationship with IU sophomore guard Robert Johnson.

“I know Rob Johnson real well,” he said. “I’m friends with his little brother (Malik). We talk about how Tom Crean develops players, their system and things like that.”

Jones, a four-star prospect, is currently ranked No. 61 in the 247Composite. As a junior at Huntington Prep, he averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 assists and three rebounds.

The IU coaching staff tracked Jones closely this month and had a presence at each of his games at the AAU Super Showcase during the final evaluation period.
