Three-star Pickerington Central (Ohio) guard Ibi Watson is the latest class of 2016 prospect to receive a scholarship offer from Indiana.

TheĀ 6-foot-5, 180 pound guard who plays AAU for All-Ohio Red announced the offer from the Hoosiers on his Twitter account last night.

Watson took an unofficial visit to Indiana on Thursday, June 18 and according to his ESPN.com profile, holds offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Dayton, Duquesne, Miami (Ohio), Toledo and UMass. He also reportedly has interest from Iowa, Michigan, West Virginia and Xavier.

All-Ohio Red didn’t qualify for the Nike Elite Youth Basketball Finals at the Peach Jam, but Watson had a very solid regular season in the EYBL.

In 17 games, he averaged 12 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. At the EYBL session in Minneapolis, Watson had 22 points against Houston Hoops and 24 points against the Las Vegas Prospects.

From the outskirts of Columbus, but no mention of Ohio State.
Think he might enter the Value City Arena with a chip on his shoulder?

so we’ve got offers to 3-star and 5-star guys in the 2016 class. is it now first come, first serve? if this kid’s only a 3-star, my guess is the iu offer is his best by far. just looked, osu (in his home state) hasn’t offered, though akron, ohio, and dayton all have. makes me think he might jump at this opportunity

Doesn’t matter if he doesn’t get off the bench.
