Michigan graduate transfer Max Bielfeldt, who won an appeal that will allow him to transfer within the Big Ten, will play for Indiana next season.

Bielfeldt made the announcement on his Twitter account.

This is the third consecutive offseason in which Indiana has added a graduate transfer as Evan Gordon came to Bloomington from Arizona State two years ago and last summer, Nick Zeisloft transferred to IU from Illinois State.

Bielfeldt, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound forward averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game last season for the Wolverines and will be eligible immediately. He was granted his release from Michigan in late April after it was announced that Caris LeVert would return for his senior season.

Indiana now has one scholarship open for next season. Bielfeldt, a native of Peoria, Illinois, also considered DePaul, Iowa State and Nebraska.

Inside the Hall will have more on this story.
