Peter Jurkin transferring to East Tennessee State

Former Indiana center Peter Jurkin will finish his collegiate career at East Tennessee State.

Jurkin announced his decision to transfer in late June and announced his destination today on his Twitter account:

Jurkin played just 11 minutes last season for the Hoosiers and averaged 0.3 points and 0.5 rebounds.

The South Sudan native originally came to Indiana in the 2012 class with Hanner Mosquera-Perea, Jeremy Hollowell and Yogi Ferrell.

A former three-star recruit, Jurkin was never healthy at Indiana as he struggled to overcome leg injuries.

I will look for any highlights from him. It would be nice to see the kid get healthy and be able to use his size and talent.

ETSU must be in desperate need of a coat rack..

No. Bawa went to Tennessee St. (in Nashville.) ETSU is in Johnson City, way over in the northeastern part of the state.

You don’t sound like a Hoosier fan to me. A Hoosier fan has more common sense than to say something like this.

  • I agree with you Dennis.. that was really in poor taste..

Best of luck Peter. You won’t be with us, but you will salvage your basketball college career. It’s bittersweet. Enjoy your escapades to beautiful Asheville, NC. So long good man.

Best wishes to Peter Jurkin. He tried. May his injuries be behind him and success lie before him and his nation. God bless.
