• MillaRed

    Stan……….got bigger.

  • inLinE6

I liked the intensity. Glad to see the new faces.

  • SCHoosier

Good stuff….hope we get more. Would like to see how April handles that drill a month from now. He was struggling with the full body pull on this tape. Gett’em ready Coach!

  • SCHoosier

Yep. Stan and Yogi..for their size have got some guns!

  • So did Troy. I had seen a picture of Troy the other day and his arms, chest, and shoulders were noticeably bigger.

  • Gregory Spera

    Love this stuff.

  • ForeverIU

    An absolute treat!

  • WhatsUpKnight

Gotta reiterate what Milla said, TW and SR got em some new muscles! SR doesn’t look like the same person!

  • Gregory Spera

Best strength and conditioning in the B1G.

  • Gregory Spera

Are they serving their detention in the weight room?

  • IUfanPurduePhD

Well, the video is titled “Taking a Timeout”…

  • ATG08

It’s one of the things I have grown to love about the CTC era. There are NO dough-boys allowed at IU anymore. You come to IU and you will be battle ready. It’s one of the reasons the NBA scouts love IU players the past few years; because their bodies already have a good head start on where they need to be in the League. Great job. I know, I know, it has to transfer into wins for it to really matter. And I agree. I just like how when our guys are on they court, they look like they belong in a D1 program in the Big Ten. Go Hoosiers.

  • plane1972

Hanner has amazing quick twitch muscles in his legs. Bigs don’t have feet to do ladders like that.

  • CreanFaithful

Hopefully he and the coaching staff can take advantage of that. He looks pretty beastly in this video.

  • Brklynhoosier

Um… he looked pretty beastly in his high school vids, too…

  • Bryce Kepner

Loved seeing this small clip of all the guys putting in WORK! Loved the intensity on Priller’s face during the drill they showed him doing. The hard work will pay off for this team

  • I hope these guys want to succeed even more than the fan base does.

  • CreanFaithful

Um, no. I’m talking about his guns. He did not look like that in high school. He may have looked more developed than some of his counterparts but nothing like he does now…

  • Brklynhoosier

Just hope it translates to performance on the floor…

  • CreanFaithful

    You and I both sir.

  • Shawn Congo

I could watch that for a few hours! It made me want to get out and join them!

  • ForeverIU

LOL, dance moves second nature to Hanner. Looking forward to seeing that fine footwork and the Cumbia Colombiana under the hoop.

  • shknqk

I’m not nearly as worried about that lineup. I think it’s not farfetched that Troy is going to make some significant progress as a rebounder with that body and assuming he loses none of his explosiveness – watch out. I also think hanner might make up quite a bit of the rebounding losses. No reason not to be optimistic after that display. What I thought was odd is those two made devin seem rather pedestrian….

And side note… We might see some boosts from Stan and Troy from shooting since they have more time famliariIng themselves with those muscles. Look how yogi jumped after a year of lifting was under his belt. Downside is I hope Rj and JBJ don’t lose too much touch with the year one lifting regimen

  • HannerTime Hoosier

It is HannerTime!!! Embrace his success @ surpassing any butthead neysayers limited grasp of his oncoming ‘Phoenix rising from the ashes’ awesomeness.

  • ForeverIU

What “ashes” man? He just needs more sky.

  • Bballpop

Now let’s just hope Pitino doesn’t come calling again.

  • WhatsUpKnight

word! watch out for slick rick!

  • WhatsUpKnight

not to brag, but i think i could handle that workout easily for at least 4.5 minutes.

  • VAHoosier

Agreed. Hanner looks outrageous; his upper body is even bigger than last year. Let’s hope his physical develop is mirrored by some b-ball development!

  • VAHoosier

I would give Stan the nod over Devin. He is too good as a 2-way player to leave him out of the lineup. Yes, that makes us smaller and forces Troy out of position, but it is our best 5 guys and it gives us the best lineup to run CTC’s style.

  • hoosierfan2336

Stan and Troy are looking huge.

  • hoosierfan2336

It’s a nice change of pace from Mrs. Knight being in charge of the workouts and ‘strength conditioning’

  • ForeverIU

I think we short-change ourselves if we don’t invest in Hanner’s post offense game. How difficult is it to develop his back-to-the-basket game? My only concern, if any, would be that he does not have the luxury of Cody and Noah in practice sessions and for mentorship, but maybe he’s taken enough from them to fly on his own.

  • I could watch a lot of stuff like that also. I was sorry it was over so quickly.. those guys look pretty impressive. I realize they have a long ways to go, but you can not beat IU’s strength and conditioning regimen.
Me, I might be able to keep up with them for 20 or 30 seconds or so.. or maybe 20 or 30 nanoseconds…lo..

  • Love that kind of stuff.. wish we could be privy to more of that kind of thing. Great job whomever got that out to us…

  • Alford Bailey

Good to see Colin out there.

  • Chris Wight

Our pleasure! Expect bigger and better things to come from this! The goal is to give the fans that follow the team 365 days per year content when there would normally be a lack-there-of (summer in any CBB program..) so thank you for your support! It will help lead to bigger and better projects in the future.

  • Chris Wight

Hey guys, first off, thanks for all of the kind comments about our video! If you would like to see more content like this, PLEASE make sure to “Like” the video on YouTube and comment there as well to tell them exactly what you like about it! That is hands down the best way to encourage them to keep making content like this. More is on the way, but overwhelming support would certainly expedite the process! haha Thanks again!

  • ForeverIU

From Chuck Martin’s Twitter. What Brad Stevens has to say.

  • CreanFaithful

RJ came in benching 185 lbs x 13. He’s was hitting the weight room long before this summer… He will be fine.

  • HannerTime Hoosier

I replied earlier, but said the A?? word instead of butt. Lol
Basically, the bench he has atrophied on burned to ash and he will rise from it. Happy 4th of July!

  • HoosierGrampy

Hanner’s physique reminds me of ND’s Orlando Woolridge…with all the props being given to Je’Nay on the Strength & Conditioning of our ballers, how is it that the reason HMP didn’t see more court time last year came out that he couldn’t last more than a couple minutes at a time–alluding that he was out of shape? WTH?

  • HoosierGrampy

I just hope he gets on the floor. Given an opportunity to succeed, I kind of get the feeling that he will be a very pleasant surprise contributor to the team’s success story this coming season.

  • ForeverIU

I am also wondering if adding too much bulk is counter-productive.

  • HoosierGrampy

Max Hoetzel looked pretty involved as well! There are traces of Ted Kitchel’s and Eric Anderson’s DNA in his game. I keep saying that I believe he’s going to be responsible for a lot of smiles on our faces this year!

  • Brklynhoosier

From your mouth to God’s ear…

  • Crean already acknowledged and it has been posted on here, there is a difference between being muscular, looking strong, being in practice shape.. and ‘being ready to go at top speed in game time situations, for long periods of time.’ I believe it was CTC’s opinion that hanner would start to ‘dog it’ a bit after a few minutes of action.. meaning he wasn’t ready for the high speed, go 110% for long periods at game time. JMO, but that’s the way it reads to me.

  • I don’t think so.. There are plenty of players in college as well as the NBA much more ‘bulked up’ than any of these guys. The kinds of things they do, and the kind of muscle they’re adding, that bulk will not hinder them one bit in game time. They are adding more ‘fast twitch’ lean muscle than long bulky muscle.. with all the fat burned off of it, you can just see it a lot better…

  • TomJameson

I’m absolutely positive I wouldn’t last a full minute! Lol. Age and surguries lol

  • TomJameson

I say just let him play and have fun. Help him limit fouls and turnovers where possible, but let him have fun with his superior athleticism!
