Christ Presbyterian Academy (Tenn.) wing Braxton Blackwell is one of Indiana’s top targets in the class of 2016 and was one of the standouts at the adidas Gauntlet last month in Dallas. Blackwell averaged 12.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game as the Atlanta Celtics finished 5-0.

As a sophomore at C.P.A., Blackwell won Tennessee’s Class AA Mr. Basketball award while averaging 19.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 2.7 steals per game.

Here’s a look at highlights of Blackwell from adidas Gauntlet Dallas via Atlanta Hoops TV:

I don’t know if its that I have the Pacers on my mind but Braxton somewhat reminds me of Lance Stevenson minus the crazy. He’s a thick, athletic wing that looks like someone put him on the copier and pressed 1.5 for size, he’s just scaled bigger than those around him. Larry Johnson back in the day was the same way, Lebron James as well. They don’t look lanky and then you put them next to someone normal and you be like “what!?”.

Heck! I want that guard making all those passes to him. Wonder what class he is?

If this guy is 6’8”, he must only play against guys who are taller than 6’5”.

This kid looks and plays with more maturity than his actual age. Has to grow some to get to 6-8.
