I can’t help it…I know our roster is still flawed. I know we just watched one of the uglier seasons of basketball in IU history. I know things aren’t perfect. But I just can’t help it…I am really, really excited for next season and watching the way this incoming freshman class plays is a big reason why.

  • Hoosier Hall

This guy can score from ANYWHERE! How crazy is it that none of his buckets were 3’s?

  • Hoosier Hall

I am too. I would feel a whole lot better if Vonleh had stayed though…

  • WhatsUpKnight

don’t known about y’all, but my favorite play is when he gets the put-back off the TL miss. 😉

  • SCHoosier

When no defense is even being attempted..why not just take it to the hole. JBjr did. Have to show is 3 pt prowess in the gym I guess.

  • sd chuck

I agree they should bring something we didn’t have last year. IMO the biggest thing may be the improvement in the returning players. Stan, TW, both making shots. DD after a year in the weight room, Yogi and HP both improving again, that’s a lot to be excited about.

  • FinEndNow

Mike Woodson has been fired… Indiana next for him? Stay tuned lol.

  • drewheck

That would be the worst idea ever

  • No Chance.

  • FinEndNow

very improbable yes. but what if it did happen?

  • FinEndNow

    After next season.

  • IUBizmark

    Please no…

  • Kevin Tolliver

Last year was ugly, but if you think about it what was IU’s biggest flaw? Turnovers. Now Yogi has some help and our wings can improve over the summer add that to some of the best outside shooters you can get.. and I think we are ok for next year.

  • FinEndNow

But will Stan, Troy, Hanner and DD fix their TO problems?

  • CreanFaithful

I certainly won’t dispute the notion that turnovers were a problem last year. It was a serious problem! However, there are plenty of teams that compete despite high turnovers. Our biggest flaw was shooting. It created a floor imbalance that negated (at least partially) our strongest asset of attacking the rim and rebounding.

  • CreanFaithful

    Dear JBJ,

Please show off your 8 foot pull up (utilized at the :10 sec mark) in practice this year. Perfect example of beating your man, recognizing the help collapsing on the basket and taking what the defense is giving you. If Yogi can start to do that instead of trying to score over bigs at the rim he will be unstoppable.

  • GaHoosier

How JBJ is the #5 SG in the 2014 class is unreal. If there are truly 4 better shooting guards in the country…then the 2014 class is loaded with talent!

    This young man is SPECIAL.

Truly excited to see him at IU.

  • Alford Bailey

Not pleased with Crean but don’t think Woodson is the man for the job.

  • Alford Bailey

Yep, or get in the lane and draw the contact. The kid can make a living at the line.

  • Alford Bailey

I’m usually Mr. Negative but I feel the same way. We got some ballers headed to B-town!

  • Alford Bailey

SPECIAL is correct. Better enjoy him next year.

  • GaHoosier

I really hope he is not one-and-done.

I really dislike the one-and-done rule!

Either way, he should burn the nets down next year!!!!

  • I’d be upset with the hire. If Crean isn’t the guy, I want a guy with a proven track record of winning in CBB. The next hire MUST be a home run. Brad Stevens is a home run at Indiana. If I were the AD, in a position to hire a bball coach at Indiana, I’d go after Stevens, Bill Self, Billy Donovan, Shaka Smart. That’s it. But Stevens would be my #1 option and I’d approach him with the mindset that we weren’t taking no for an answer.

  • two of those kids are ranked higher bc of size and athleticism alone. Thankfully for us, putting the ball through the hoop is something that he’s better than all 4 of the guys ranked above him. That usually tends to translate to the college game a bit faster than athleticism.

  • PDXHoosier

I have a feeling his ranking is somewhat based on size/athleticism. As far as skills, I don’t know if anyone is better.

  • yimyames

Not sure about the others but, Troy seemed to have corrected his before the end of last season.

  • William Hagenmaier

    whats up knight????

  • bloomingtonian

Anyone else see a little allen iverson in his game?

  • Brcturne

Nope. Crean wins 20+ games next year, finishes 4-5 in B1G, and we get to have the same conversations next year. And the year after that (i.e. Mike Davis 2.0)…

  • kaponya44

They probably picked the name in humor ..That is what the IU student said in the “last straw” incident that got RMK fired ..I find it rather funny .
