please IW make my dreams come true….

  • Evansville Hoosier

Think he’d be a great fit at Indiana. Just a scorer through and through.

  • CreamandCrimson

Everything I’ve read about him compares him to the guy he “looks up to”….Lance Stephenson (also from Brooklyn). I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. Anyway, he’s a tremendous power guard that could play the 1 or the 2 for us and I’d be very happy with either Whitehead or Robert Johnson as a guard commit for our 2014 class. Here’s to hoping he makes the best decision for himself…even if that’s not IU.

  • awesome ability to penetrate, go left, and finish lefty

  • plane1972

Woof! Kid’s shifty. Could make anyone look foolish at any moment. His left is deadly.

  • HoosierGrampy

Looking at this clip (esp passes at 1:07-13 and the sequence starting at 1:41-46), shows that he’s a baller who will take an open shot or create one..but also is more than willing to share the rock w/team mates. When you use the term “Scorer”, it brings to mind guys like Mike Woodson & DeShawn Thomas–neither of whom EVER took a shot he didn’t like…lol.
I look this tape and hope an old Johnny Cash song comes to fruition; “I’ve got STRIPES” …

  • BC

He’s not bad. I like his ability to dish under the basket.

  • jmac

He is the prize of our possible recruits! I don’t think we get him though.

  • Oldguyy

Great talent, but does he have enough between the ears to become a Hoosier?

  • guest

    womp, womp…

  • Rie

I would be content with a one man class of Isaiah. I cannot honestly say that about any of our other current recruits, although they are also great. Guard is our most thin position for 2014, and I cannot think of a better way to round out our team than with debatably the best one in the country.

  • WhatsUpKnight

yeah, i think he may be kinda fun to watch in an IU uniform

  • Walton

be a nice change to bring in a New York kid.

  • SCHoosier

Not sure IU is HIS priority..but if IW becomes a Hoosier…after a short adjustment period…he wil play anywhere he wants and as many minutes as he can handle. that assumes of course that he’s willing to leave it on the defensive end also.

  • Townie12

WOW!!! Can’t recall seeing someone so good at finishing with the left.
Isaiah, what are you waiting for? Come to IU, destroy the B1G for one year, two tops, then go play for the Raptors. What’s the holdup??

  • JT

Wow, he could not just play sg but also some point as well. Hope we get him.

  • hoosier1158

I like him a lot. Hope he commits to IU.

  • Quickiedahoosier

Like this kid a lot. NY City toughness in Hoosier Candy Stripes!

  • AKA Hoosier Daddy

It would be great to get IW but I don’t think IU does and since Goodluck didn’t give a verbal or anything it looks like the 2014 class for IU is just simply a wash. What in the hE11 is going on in B-TOWN????

  • Kelin Blab

He is what you call a finisher….

  • Walton

Goodluck will commit. Besides that IU is one Isaiah Whitehead away from a good class IMO. Not sure they need a big class, just a couple really good players. We’ll see.

  • gerald

so because goodluck didnt give a verbal that he can pull at any moment the 2014 class is a wash? I’m not sure im following you…

  • Blair McKee

How many sets of eyes does he HAVE? That’s some kind of court vision. A little of that razzle-dazzle will have to be contained against more experienced competition, but it sure is fun to see! Get him some candy-striped pants STAT!

No verbal from GO, yea, the whole year is for sure a ” wash “, geeezzz.

Fall OUT of love with the ledge dude !

When Devin Robinson, Robert Johnson, GO, Whitehead and ALL of the other quality recruits we’re after go else where I’ll venture over to the window and take a look at the ledge with you.

Starting to hope that if we don’t get this kid and RJ both, IW is the one we end up with. Happy with either one, a little more happy with IW and ecstatic with both.

  • PDXHoosier

    His left hand is impressive

  • PDXHoosier

Do we really have a shot at this kid? looks like all his other schools are urban east coast schools. Would be a nice change to get a kid from NY, though.

  • SCHoosier

Get use to it….long term commitments will be no more..everybody will want their visits..promises of playing time etc. Just the way its gonna be.

  • BlakeD1223

I love that quick release on his jumper. Great vision as well. I want him.

  • Remy Willing and Abell

Any word on Goodlucks visit ????????

  • Swishmac IU

If you look at facts and strip out Twitter chatter, you would tend to believe that we are not shaping up well for 2014. Facts are:
    – Crean out visiting Hurt today, probably wouldnt happen if he got a strong sense he was getting Goodluck
    – Crean dialing up the pressure on Lourawls probably means he doesnt think he is getting Johnson or Whitehead – or (glass half full) Exum called and told Crean he is on board.

  • Now you’re making me real nervous about GO. Maybe Crean is just covering his bases and keeping the pressure on GO? Hope that’s the case..
I haven’t felt good about Whitehead since his comment about nothing to do in Bloomington. Seems to me if he had the work ethic that we like to see at IU, he wouldn’t be making those kinds of comments. he must not have seen the other talent and associated boy ‘toys’, that is Bloomington… Hmmm, maybe I should at least go over to the window and have a look at that ledge… Fortunately (for me at least), I’m in a one story house… hahaha…

  • Remy Willing and Abell

Well we have missed on all that he’s gone after . Some CTC had recruited the longest! I don’t care what people think , We are still losing from that Syracuse game . Total meltdown ! 2 top 5 players and IU couldn’t get past that! It wasn’t the players fault .

  • ScoopGeoff

Here is a stone-cold lock… We will end up with at least 2 new scholarship payers next year. At least one of those those players will be someone we can get excited about. It may not be GO, IW, RJ, or DR… But someone will be filling Sheehey’s and Gordon’s shoes. We are IU… We are a destination school for top recruits.

Oh, and the best news… Even if no one signs this year we’ll have a B1G title contending team for the following 2 seasons anyway.

  • Tj21

Well said, anyone we get us a bonus in 2014. We will be loaded and have a year of experience. If we get one or 2 of these guys great, if not that’s ok, the 2015 class is loaded.

  • Quickiedahoosier

Come play for the Hoosiers! The last time we were led by a point guard named Isaiah we hung a banner and we can do it again with you. You know you can ball so ball where the game was perfected!

  • r

The fact all his interest, aside from Bloomington, is in east coast schools means he is comfortable there. It also means Bloomington is the one school he may be fine leaving his comfort zone for. I think he will choose a place close to home (he seems very tied up with his girlfriend), but perhaps he will consider Indiana harder (or even less) when someone else commits.

  • WisconHoosier

I bet he’s smart enough to not make comments like yours on the Internet.

Why would you slam such a valued recruit? Are you from Purdue? Jeez.

  • Bo

You hit the nail on the head! If anyone looks at his Twitter account they would see that he has had the same girlfriend for like a year and a half. It’s a shame but I don’t think we can overcome the distance issue while he is still wrapped up with a high school sweetheart….
