You’d not know defense was his bread and butter on this… Not that his O was efficient but questioned.

Can’t wait to see him in Indy

  • Brklynhoosier

    Wow… and… wow… and…

  • Arch_Puddington

Even in a silly exhibition like this you can see not only the talent, but the competitiveness and confidence. He’s going to be a star, and that’s all there is to it.

  • ScoopGeoff

??? Maybe it’s just that your English is strange, but huh?

    1) Dipo was competing on defense
    2) Durant is the best offensive player in the world right now
    3) Durant has him by 5 inches and added length
    4) Dipo’s shot looked great and handle really improved
    5) Dipo looked like he belonged in that match-up, and that he felt like he belonged in that match-up

  • WhatsUpKnight

    ho-ly sh…!

  • atlhoosier

so glad we could watch him grow into the player he is now, and cant wait to see what he does in the future

  • Brklynhoosier

Still struggling to speak after watching this… and lost in a fantasyland of what could have been… if we’d had him ONE MORE year…

Has ANYONE -EVER- seen ANY OTHER player develop LIKE THIS???

Arch is dead-right. He will be ROY, and he will be an all-star… Unbelievable…

  • Remy Willing and Abell

Damn Vic you keep getting better and better and better and better ! It almost seems like you get better by the freakin HOUR !

  • IUfanToby

    Damn, love watching dipo play

  • Shawn Congo

Just wait til he really develops in the NBA. Then people will say Crean was holding him back.

  • HoosierPat

Oladipo is going to be a star for a very long time.

  • Snookafly

Way to go, Vic! That #9 is pretty good, too.

  • thrawnjan

Two or three people will also say that Oladipo was holding Crean back. It’s the internet. The more outrageous the claims, the happier the trolls.

  • thrawnjan

I thought shknqk tried to say: “You would not know that he had to rely on his defense to get PT in the past.” (…because here, his offense looks so strong)

  • lol thanks for the translation. the part after the … from shknqk really lost me.

  • Kelin Blab

    Vic is a pro…..

Durant could score on anyone and make it look ez but Vic was competing and not giving up anything. This should be noted to all recruits….at IU if you work at it look what could happen.

  • Candy Striped Kid

this video makes me dizzy. how awesome is kd btw

  • Bleeding Crimson

I’ve been at fan since before some of you were even born and I can’t remember a player like Vic. I pretty sure he put a smile on my face every game not many players can do that. He was special in every way and will surely be missed by all.
I hope I’m still around when he retires from the pro’s so I can listen to him announce a game….as in QB.

  • Rantool

Got to love Victor, what a class act! Will always be one of my all time Hoosier favorites!

  • shknqk

    “Nor that his…” Dang autocorrect.

Durant is just otherworldly on O and Vic’s O looking ridiculously good.

No idea what this game was about and who else played, but it really makes no sense that Vic would be assigned to guard Durant – yet he took the challenge and I think that is really cool and bodes well.

  • shknqk

So seƱor… 1st time espeakin’ american. Gracias por la traduccion.

  • shknqk

And last… His shot has gone from mechanical and a little slow to fluid and pretty and pretty quick.

When Cook Hall needs upgrades, I sense it might get a big check and be renamed Victor’s Lane.

  • calbert40

I know it is nearly impossible for all of us to be objective when watching him, but I said it before the draft that any GM that passes on him is going to lose sleep over the decision. There was only one, but I still stand by my statement. I think he is going to be a max player and perennial all-star for a decade plus.

  • My two fav players in the NBA….will be interesting to see whether
Victor or Cody have the most impact on their respective teams. I would wager on Cody.

  • SCHoosier

U can argue that Durant is the best offensive player in the NBA since Jordon. VO belongs and in an exhibition game for fun like this..he held his own. However in a game that counts..putting VO on Durant at 6-9..with that talent to score anywhere.. would be a mismatch..of course..who ISN’T a mis-match guarding Durant?? ‘Dipo is going to be a special player and fan fave in the NBA. He’s no where as good as he can and will be. Scary!

  • esapata

It was also an exhibition. More than likely that more effort was generally put in to offense than defense by most of the participants.

  • chris

the crowd must have gotten nuts on that backboard pass to himself…the 3 point shot looks a lot better than the highlight reel that was posted up here pre-draft.
