Evansville Bosse and Spiece Indy Heat guard Jaquan Lyle is a consensus top 20 player nationally in the 2014 class and is considering seven schools: Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Ohio State, Tennessee and UCLA.

We’ve compiled two and a half minutes of high definition quality video of Lyle from pool play games from this past weekend’s Hensley Memorial Run-N-Slam at the Spiece Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne in the embedded media player below:

  • He’s so solid around the basket.

  • Amazing talent. Hope he goes where he should. I know people have reservations about him. I think that anyone with this skill set being recruited early on (as a freshman) would or could waiver from their commitment. Hope he lands at IU. He is exactly what CTC is best at developing. After 2 yrs at IU he would be a lottery pick and his family would be able to watch his progress every weekend. Need Indiana talent at IU.

Evansville is a funny place… ots of Kentucky and Louisville fans there. I hope he can see that Cheaney, 24 years after leaving Evansville is still THE man in town.

I know there are a lot of really good targets that we are after at the 1 & 2 spots so I’ll just put it this way, if it turns out that we are in a position to get this young man, I really hope that we do. Think his style fits what works well in Crean’s system.

Am I the only one who gets all nostalgic seeing Trey in his pretty pink shoes and thinking (sniff) of what used to be?…

“Would or could waiver from their commitment”. What commitment? Jaquan Lyle hasn’t committed to IU or any other school. James Blackmon Jr. is committed to us and has been since his freshman season but Jaquan Lyle is loving the recruiting process and has said he probably won’t commit until after his final high school season.
