What are the differences between Luke and Cody Zeller at this point (high school) in their careers?I know CZ had tougher competitoin.
That is the most aggressive I’ve seen Fischer in any of the highlite tapes. Flying to the basket..good moves with each hand..not afraid of the outside shot and a solid defender. Needs to be stronger for sure..but I don’t see anyway you keep him out of next seasons starting line-up..I mean who is going go beat him out if Luke keeps developing? I don’t want to lose our current #40..but if and when we do..this #40 is going to be fun to watch develop.
Wow! Never seen him play as much w/ his back to the basket. Great hands! He keeps improving at this rate, I don’t think we’re gonna hold onto him for 4 yrs…
His continued improvement s impressive!
ITH retweat said he got these baskets against diamond stone. After watching this video it’s obvious stone wasn’t the guy guarding Luke.
Of all our recruits this has been the most impressive highlight film of the bunch
The more I watch Luke the more I love his game!
We say it a lot, but I think it really is true in this situation; Luke Fischer is being underrated by recruiting services. He looked very, very good in this highlight. More athletic than he usually looks, consistently making moves over his shoulder, blocking a few shots… This is the type of big you need in the Big Ten. A strong, talented, 4 year guy who gets on the boards and maintains the paint. Luke will be a steadying force for us the whole time he is here.
What’s obvious is that there is no one on the court who CAN guard him. He scores in the low post with both hands, he scores in transition, he scores from outside, and he scores on put backs. If Diamond Stone could have stopped him, he would have.
That #12 for the white team was getting ABUSED!
That’s probably because when he was guarded by Stone, Luke was knocking down shots from the outside and Stone wasn’t quick enough to contest his shots.
Luke is really underrated. Put some muscle on him and he will be a key contributor from day one.
It would really be fun to watch Cody and Luke play on the same floor. I still think that is a realistic possibility.
I am your Father! Lmao.
So you haven’t seen any of Vonleh’s films yet?!
He will move up on the rankings along with Blackmon Jr. I’d love it if he has that ability to block and alter a lot of shots. That is the one area we are lacking this year. I’m sure HMP will help in that area soon.
I think he is underrated big time. Probably should be a top 40 guy atleast.
This kid is really good-and looks better all the time. Really hard to understand how he’s not rated in the top 100. Always thought he was a good recruit for us.
Granted that this was a game against Diamond Stone’s and his team, however, we also got to keep in my mind that Stone is what…a freshman? Would love for Diamond Stone to make his way to Bloomington one day. But that day would still be a long ways out.
When Luke wears 42 next year bc Cody returns, we are looking at Cody as our small forward with Noah and Luke at pf and center. Noah at shooting guard maybe?
The baby hooks from both sides are going to generate a lot of buckets.
Best thing… He claimed the victory and the game… That winning time trait is in him. Love it!
Luke playing like he is in this clip is just the latest example of Crean’s ability to identify a diamond in the rough. Crean may not have to rub as hard as he thought he might have to to make this rock shine at the next level.
very nice video..i luv jumphooks for bigmen..let jeney work his magic on him and who knows we may have found our next kirk haston
I love your optimism but peegs tweet suggested he got those numbers against stone guarding him. That was very misleading.
I really think a front court of Fischer, Vonleh, and Hollowell would be very impressive. I know Hollowell hasn’t played well this year. However, if we give him a year of maturity like most freshmen should get, we will be in pretty good shape. Hanner coming off the bench will not be bad either. I could easily see Hanner becoming the next Sheehey. An energy guy that comes off the bench. Yogi, Will, Fischer, Vonleh, and Hollowell is a pretty dominant starting five. We will have some bumps, but it will be a fun year.
I forgot about Robinson, too. All reports are that he will be ready to contribute some solid minutes also. I think we will weather the “Cody and Vic leaving” storm pretty well. We won’t be as solid of a National Title contender, but we will be ready to do some damage.
