I didn’t like the KJ hiring that much at all when it happened, but every time he gives his philosophical insight in these pressers, I think the man may just have the greatest balance of knowledge of how every level of college basketball works (on and off the court). Add on what he has done recruiting the DMV, and it only leaves me thinking he was an even better hiring than Calbert. Well done, CTC. Well done.

Heard Jaquan Lyle was gonna be in the Hall tomorrow night. Anybody got the inside scoop where we stand with him? Are we near the top of his list?

IU has played 18 games and their opposition has shot 37% from the field and 30.7% from 3 point line. In Big Ten play for 5 games the opposition has shot 38.8% from the field and only 29.02% from 3. In the Big Ten game they lost Wisconsin shot just 37% from the field and just 25% from 3 point land. But all we hear is how bad IU is on defense and they can’t defend the 3 point shot. I know we still have a lot of hard games coming up but their defense is much improved over last year at this point in the season. Last year they allowed the other teams to average 42.6% from the field and 34.9% from the 3 point line and made it to the sweet sixteen. The only teams to shoot above 40% against us this year are Butler and Minn. in the 2nd halves of both games. If they can play this good defense in the games coming up and get their bench to come through they can win the Big Ten and go deep into the tourney. All is not lost yet guys! I know I am an IU Fan but the numbers are better on Offense and Defense so far this season. I know they have some area’s they must improve on but there is still a lot of basketball to play and I hope the best is yet to come from my Hoosiers and I hope you do too.

    Amen to that.

Agree. He is very well spoken in these pressers… Knowledgable, laid back and humble. Its easy to see why players really connect with him. An excellent balance for the intensity that CTC exhibits at pretty much all times. Great hire!

Southport65 : “I hope the best is yet to come from my Hoosiers and I hope you do too.”

    And amen to that, again.

Anybody watch Michigan State – Wisconsin tonight? Tom Izzo clearly knew how to beat them (at halftime – less help, don’t leave the three point shooters alone). I guess four years as an Izzo assistant wasn’t enough for TC.

  • JerryMaguire

It’s exactly what CTC said as well. However, IU just didn’t defend free throw line like Izzo & MSU. Wisc shot 38% from line tonight. They shot 78% against us. Guess who wins game if they shoot 38% against us or if they shoot 78% against MSU? Do the math. I guess this makes Izzo a better coach in your mind?

Let’s talk again Sunday night. I hope I have a reason to admit that I was wrong.

  • CreanFaithful

He threw a hex on their free throw shooting? The only reason Wisky didn’t win is because they couldn’t buy a free throw. By the way… CTC and company beat MSU last year. That doesn’t make CTC a better coach, but that is essentially the logic (or lack thereof) that you are using in reverse.

    Allow me… You’re wrong!

Who voted down on Southport65′s post and why?

  • CreanFaithful

Some people are adverse to the facts (especially when the facts refute the delusional dialogue that they spatter)
