Noah is what we will need to stay in the top 10 next year.
here come all the old school hoosiers saying the dont like his “body language” because he looks bored against this competition. I say look at that pretty lefty banker he hit.
He certainly has a big frame and a nice game, wait till he hits our weight training program, he’ll be a beast in time. I can’t help but think though that every freshman is going to go through an adjustment period. Couple this with the “leap” guys seem to take their sophomore year and the heavy lifting will likely be done by Will, Remy, Yogi, and Jeremy…hopefully Hanner as well. I’m going to assume that Victor and Cody will be in the NBA. This will give Noah and Troy a bunch of minutes so they should come along and find their groove in time for the Big Ten season. Luke and Peter will be wild cards and Devin/Stan/Collin its hard to tell, any one of them could explode like Vic and Will have.
When Zeller decides to come back next season, we will have the most dominant frontcourt in the nation. Not sure how the scholly situation will turn out but i really dont care right now. I’m almost positive that this kid will be our best player regardless of whether Zeller comes back or not.
He probably will have a period of transition; you’re right, everyone does. But seeing as Draft Express currently has him as the 7th pick in the draft immediately following his freshman year, I think he should be able to handle the transition well and be a big contributor for us.
Even the best of the best have an adjustment period, I agree with you. Noah wont need much time. He’s something special. Noah, Stan, and Troy will be by far our best from the 2013 class. Stan Robinson and Troy Williams are going to be fan faves bc of the way they play D and get out in transition.
B1G foes. You are entering a world of tremendous pain and intense suffering. We are here to destroy you and crush your hopes and dreams.
I wouldn’t assume that Troy will be starting, or anybody that isn’t top 10. I could see Yogi, Hollowell/Abell, Sheehee, HMP, Fischer….its really a toss up. If we win a NC then I fully expect VO, and Z to go pro.
May be the best offensive rebounder since DJ White. Something that has been sorely missed since he left.
Inside-outside..passes…rebounds..scores. Saw another kid who did all that at Noah’s age..first name was Ervin (later known as Magic)..he went on to do pretty well. NV has that kind of potential… I don’t get real giddy over HS talent..but..
Nobody can guard him! VO, Will, CWat, even with 5 fouls to give, TP couldn’t guard him!
Most of these highlight reels have a lot of the same type things. When I watch them I try and look for things that don’t jump out at you the way a dunk or block do and I feel like NV has a way of making even those type of things jump out at you. Especially liked the use of his left hand and using it without making it noticeable that it is his off hand. If one was to watch just that one part where he uses his left hand and then was asked whether they thought it was his off hand or his primary hand it would be pretty much a guess for most, if not all, people. Smooooth operator, me like lots !!
What if Oladipo returns?
As much as I love Oladipo and think he will translate into a good pro, I think this kid is our best player next year regardless. He has every tool in his tool box. He’s the most dominant rebounder in the nation and I’m not even sure it’s close. He shoots the ball exceptionally well from the perimeter, handles the ball like a guard, passes exceptionally well, and protects te rim. We haven’t had a talent like this in quite some time. He’s the type of guy that if his shot isn’t falling, he still can put up 15 & 15+. We loved Trey Lyles and this Vonleh kid has owned Lyles everytime they play each other. Reference back to the Adidas nations tournament. If Zeller AND Oladipo come back, I don’t see how we wouldn’t be the hands down favorite to win it all.
I’m very excited to see Noah Vonleh put on the Candy Stripes. He’s a very special player with a lot of talent. I see him starting next to Zeller in the front court next season. And yes I do believe Zeller will return for his junior year despite the majority saying else. With that said I think Vonleh is a one and done.
