2013 Indiana Basketball Recruiting Board

The 2013 Indiana Basketball Recruiting Board, inspired by the Football Recruiting Board on mgoblog and the Hotboard on UMHoops, is a collection of information on recruits that Indiana is believed to be recruiting for its 2013 class.

Information that appears on school lists is collected from public recruit profiles on ESPN, Rivals, Scout, 247Sports and various news outlets. School lists only denote reported interest, not offers. The board should not be considered a complete list of prospects being recruited and is not endorsed by Indiana University.

If there is a prospect we should consider adding, please drop us an email at insidethehall@gmail.com.

Last Updated: 5/15/13

Collin Hartman (Committed on November 21, 2010)

Forward, 6-6, 190-pounds, Cathedral (IN), Eric Gordon All-Stars
ESPN: 3-star (NR); Rivals: 3-star (NR); Scout: 3-star (NR)

Notes: Hartman is a versatile forward that can shoot from the perimeter. His ball handling is outstanding for his size and his basketball IQ is above average. Hartman will need to continue improving his upper body strength, agility and his ability to score off the dribble if he hopes to earn early minutes in Bloomington.

Devin Davis Jr. (Committed on November 21, 2010)

Forward, 6-6, 190-pounds, Warren Central (IN), Eric Gordon All-Stars
ESPN: 3-star (NR); Rivals: 3-star (127); Scout: 3-star (NR)

Notes: Davis is known for his versatility and also a player that doesn’t take a play off. His jump shot continues to improve and should fill a role nicely in Bloomington.

Luke Fischer (Committed on December 31, 2011)

Forward, 6-10, 210-pounds, Germantown (WI), Wisconsin Swing
ESPN: 4-star (34); Rivals: 4-star (94); Scout: 4-star (79)

Notes: Fischer became the third member of IU’s 2013 class with a verbal pledge shortly after the Hoosiers dispatched of No. 2 Ohio State on New Year’s Eve. After suffering a broken hand in January, the future IU big man returned to help lead Germantown to an undefeated season and state championship. As a senior, he again led Germantown to an undefeated state championship and won Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin.

Stanford Robinson (Committed on May 16, 2012)

Guard, 6-4, 175-pounds, Findlay Prep (NV), Team Takeover
ESPN: 4-star (99); Rivals: 4-star (56); Scout: 4-star (59)

Notes: Robinson became the fourth commit in IU’s 2013 class after taking an unofficial visit to Bloomington on May 14.  He averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 76.1 percent from the foul line in his junior campaign as Paul VI won both the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and City titles. Robinson averaged 16.2 points on 58.5% shooting in the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam. Robinson transferred to Findlay Prep in Las Vegas for his senior season and the Pilots finished the season 35-1.

Troy Williams (Committed on October 28, 2012)

Forward, 6-7, 190-pounds, Oak Hill Academy (VA), Boo Williams
ESPN: 4-star (54); Rivals: 4-star (47); Scout: 4-star (67)

Notes: Williams committed to Indiana on Oct. 28, just a week after wrapping up his official visit to Bloomington. He’s an explosive forward that can score in a variety of ways from the wing.

Noah Vonleh (Committed November 10, 2012)

Forward, 6-8, 220-pounds, New Hampton School (MA), Mass Rivals
ESPN: 5-star (13); Rivals: 5-star (8); Scout: 5-star (7)

Notes: Vonleh gave a verbal commitment to Indiana to the Hoosiers on an official visit after deciding to reclassify from 2014 to 2013 back in late Sept. He’s the highest rated commitment to-date for Indiana under Tom Crean.

    Where is Brenton Scott?

  • Mac

    We need Bee Jay

  • Lhberg

according to ESPN Willis is going to UK

  • Lucas Vaal

    Hi Alex,

first off, I love your site and everything you do. I can’t imagine on how long it takes to keep this up and running as smoothly as it is. My question is when will be the next time you update the upcoming recruiting classes? after the season?

    thanks!

I think quick, big PG’s are always a priority along with an atheltic post guy…rest can be filled from from plenty of talent available. Glad IU has a couple of candidates for post and PG..we know how important they are given our 4 year history.

  • Kelin Blab

2013 to the naked eye seems to be a hum drum class but I really like this group. Devin Davis and Luke Fischer are steals in my opinion. They are 4 year guys that will torture teams as the improve….just as our 2010 class with Will and VO.

    Really like Singer and Curington
I am not sold on Anya yet, really big kid, not sure if he is mobile enough for IU….could be wrong.

  • HoosierDD

I like Anya alot.  Reminds me of Draymond Green.  Obviously he is not as polished and does not have the same all around game but the talent is there.  I’ve seen highlights of his where he is running the floor pretty well.  I do agree that right now he probably can’t do that for an entire college game but will he need to his first year?  That remains to be seen.  He just needs to work on his conditioning among other things but the potential is through the roof.  He can be as good as he wants to be.

A Fischer-Anya-Jurkin front line is giving me goosebumps right now.  Add yogi at point. Hollowell. Buss. Perea. DD. Wow.

Where are the 4 and 5 stars?  Come on Tom Crean we have a #1 team you can at least get some 4 star recruits!

  • Hoosier_DC
  • Mpmattingly1

what about julius randle are we recruiting him

  • SCHoosier

Maybe for depth..but I really think Crean’s offense requires three guard/wing tyupe players vs. 3 big dudes..guess you plan to your talent though..would be a nice decision to have to make.

  • phil ross

Just curious, you said projected size 5.  Is that thru graduation of what you think or both?

  • http://twitter.com/RatKingCole Cole Phillips Allen

That is why he is under “others to keep an eye on”.

  • unrealhoosier

how many scholarships are we going to through out there i know we wont get everyone but what happens if we get five or even maybe six.  Is this when a coach advises someone that accepted a scholly to look else where

  • Haystacks

I think the “notes” section under each recruit needs to be more specific wrt dates.  ie – just this month, or just last spring become more difficult to follow when time goes by.

  • JayTehHayGOIU

Just looked at espn and luke fischer is now a four star. looks as if hes ready to move up in to a 2013 top 100 player

  • http://twitter.com/IUinNap Caleb Moore

DB is good but not a Mr Basketball candidate to be taken seriously IMO. DJ has a good shot as does Scott. If Hartman were to pan out to be Harangody I would be shocked. Hartyman just needs to worry about staying healthy and showing why he earned an Indiana scholly offer in the first place……….there’s potential there to be very good. It’s a long way from being relized currently.

Gotta have a big!   If CZ leaves after next year, as I suspect he will, we’ll have to have another big guy.  Anya looks like the right target.  Certainly don’t need another wing or PG …

All I can say is stop recruiting everyone and put all your interest in BeeJay. If CZ leaves than he will fill that hole better than anyone in the country in my opinion. I think we have a great chance of landing him as long as we keep on it.

  • HoosierKen73

With all due respect, that would be possible the most stupid move Coach could make. You can’t just drop everyone else. because there is absolutely no assurance that no matter how hard you recruit BeeJay, he will in fact decide to come to IU. We all believe there are good reasons why he should, but he may not see it that way. So then of he’d decide to go elsewhere, and everyone else would be comitted…we’d have nothing. There are other very good prospects out there besdies him, and I agree he would absolutely ‘make’ that class…but, we can’t just stop trying to recruit everyone else. That would be a totally ‘myopic’ plan in my opinion. Gosh I would still like to see Ojeleye, or Marcus Lee or McKay if for some reason we don’t land BeeJay. I trust Coach Crean to do the right thing. Go Hoosiers!!

I don’t know about everyone else but in my opinion, Marcus Lee would fit in better in a Tom Crean offense than Beejay.  I see Beejay as a half-court offense type of player and I think the best fit for him is Syracuse, Pitt, or WVU.  Beejay is a nightmare on defense and a great rebound but if Cody Zeller would leave, Marcus Lee could be someone who can make up for the scoring loss.

  • FreeAgentID

    Come to the Hoosiers!

  • HoosierTrav

Marcus Lee is not that impressive of a scorer. Heck of an athlete who plays great defense. I’d like to see BeeJay in candy stripes bc his body is ready for the B1G right now. Of course this is just my honest opinion and i would still be thrilled to have Marcus Lee

Is anyone else wondering why we aren’t going after Jabari Parker? He is from Chicago. (Close to home) Illinois is a joke of a program. Nearly every top school has offered except for IU. IU has shown they are a top tier program again and every kid is considering them. What am I missing here?

Zeller will be in the League

  • Evan

IU started Recruiting 2013 C Kennedy Meeks over the weekend. He is Ranked 28th by ESPN.

  • Evansville Hoosier

If nothing else, we should probably offer so he knows he’s welcome if he wants to come. Same reason we should offer Wiggins

He backed out, and now verballed to KY

  • Scott W.

Blacknon is still committed to IU

  • Scott W.

    Beachem committed to Notre Dame.

  • ErniePyle

Too late in the recruitment. Elite college programs have been filling up his inbox since 8th grade. If IU jumped in now, it would be laughable. You heard it first here. He’s going to BYU.

  • jv

Parket is a one and one and Indiana has not been in that program for good reasons.

  • dtfreed

He committed to K St. last week

  • FreeAgentID

    Come to the Hoosiers!

  • INDIANAHOOOOOOSIER

IU should really recruit Mamadou Ndiaye i mean not every yr a 7’5 dude with an 8’1 wingspan comes along if we dont get anya (which i think we will) we definatley should at least look at him hes a MONSTER

I concur. For all we know, he has been eyeing Indiana and was just never contacted. If you are a top player and you haven’t noticed IU in the last year, you are living under a rock.

  • HoosierKen73

REALLY? Don’t think he’d fit IU’s style at all… Did you see the post on another article…he’s abig as an oak tree, only slower. There’s probably a very good reason the majors aren’t all over him. Now that’d be a project.
