Get this kid to Bloomington for this years Hoosier Hysteria!

  • IU5_PU0

This video makes Noah look like Harrison Barnes 2.0.

I really, really want this kid. Forget the rest and go after Noah. Not many players come around with his athletic ability and handles, I mean the dude is crossing over everyone and shooting the 3, what is there not to love? Anyone know if he will be at Hoosier Hysteria? Someone should put a sign out early at HH so all of us members can actually meet and talk.

  • Indiana_Banners

    Unfortunately…

  • http://www.vccm.net/ iubase

He and BeeJay are important additions. This kid would be our highest ranking recruit of 13. Reminds me a bit of Calbert Chaney. Quick, a great left hand, and nice touch.

  • Chitownhoosier

First of all, you guys do a fantastic job on this site. Head and shoulders above the alternatives so to speak.

On to Vonleh… This kid is for real and it is fantastic that, from what we know and have heard, the IU staff is really making him a priority. He is probably a one or two year type player, but would really excel in our system. Seems like a good kid too. I’m making “Bring the Rain Noah” t-shirts….. Go get em Hoosiers!

  • inLinE6

He won’t be at HH. As I remembered he has not taken SAT yet. Not allowed for campus visit before that.

  • MillaRed

    Point-Forward

  • dtfreed

    BS he can too

  • inLinE6

I meant official visit. He can’t let IU pay his visit unless he receives SAT score. Surely he can buy his own trip and come.

  • HoosierTrav

There are rumblings that he will be making his official visit on November 27th for the IU vs UNC game. That fares even better for us if we win this game, considering that UNC, Ohio St., and IU are recruiting him the hardest. Lets destroy OSU, AND UNC this year and make us the clear favorite. Gonna need big years outta Vic, Will, & Cody. We may need all three to leave early if one of BeeJay, Kennedy, & Troy Williams commit. These other coaches are going to harp on IU’s scholly situation. Noah Vonleh was quoted as saying that he will hear everybodys pitch and “wait to see what schools have a scholarship for me!” Regardless, if he favors IU, you make room for him! Period! He’s better than Trey Lyles. Not as polished offensively, but he does everything else WAY better. he dominated @adidas nations. Even dominated a head to head matchup against Trey. Vonleh can definitely relieve the sting from the Trey decommitment. Pull out ALL STOPS CTC!

  • HoosierTrav

You could also have a really valid argument that this kid is more developed than a Sr. in high school Cody Zeller. #SCARY

  • HoosierTrav

It was reported by some scouting agency that he wont be coming to HH. He may end up finding a way over on his own dime but Nov 27th seems to be the date. I’m fine with that!

  • http://www.facebook.com/joshobie Josh O’Brien

You are correct. A player has to pay their own way for an unofficial, and the university pays for an official.

  • http://twitter.com/IAMRIGHTagain Claude Askins

Start him at the 2 and wait for the mismatch. Post low if they put their 2 on him and if they somehow go big, isolate him on the wing. Defense might be an issue with him at the 2, but we can overcome that.

Kid has a total game..I’m sure he’s hearing a lot of negatives about IU’s scholarship crunch. If we get off to strong start…and get him down right after his SAT’s are official…I think it will take a full court press to land him. I’m sure his “people” think of him as a “one and doner”..and he may be. If so..u know who will raise his ugly program..err head…

  • Derbus

He is NOT selecting based on a victory, but on development of his raw talent!

  • Marthas_Broom

Looks to be a much better athlete and have higher upside than Lyles

  • Marthas_Broom

Really hope this kid doesn’t get caught up in the growing academic scandal at UNC. No telling how that is going to end, but it doesn’t look good for the Heels right now.

  • jpniles

My heart palpitates to think of this kid after Je’Nay Jackson puts 20lbs. of muscle and conditioning on him. Kid is a stud!

  • twarrior87

I think Vonleh is in the 2013 class, Trey is in the 2014 class… so, Trey’s leaving didn’t make any room

  • twarrior87

I don’t think we have room to bring in BeeJay and Noah… unless alot of players leave this year

  • twarrior87

How would it be possible to get both Noah and BeeJay?

  • N71

Agree with twarrior87, the 2 are not linked.

I would not worry about Calipari coming after this kid. He has his hooks in what could be the best recruiting class ever. Assuming Wiggins reclassifies, Calisuck is looking at Wiggins, Randle, and possibly the Harrison twins. It is going to hurt, but pUKe is looking to be STACKED in 2013. Plus, there are going to be hangovers from this year’s program. Not many of his guys this year are one-and-dones. I would really love to get Vonleh… even if it is only for a year.

  • achurt

I think it’s insane to “need” or want CZ to leave early. I can assure you I want nothing more than CZ to stay as long as possible.
I don’t want to be Kentucky… I would like to recruit like Kentucky and keep those kids for 3-4 years (pipe dream).
I suppose we need to pump some NBA players out to better recruit – so maybe it would be nice if VO left and got drafted high… and then was replaced with an elite talent. I’ll never say I want Zeller gone though. I’ll take him over any of the recruits you just listed.

I see us adding Noah and BeeJay and Troy going to UNC. That would give us a front line of Peter, Luke, and BeeJay in the post, Noah and Hanner at the power forward spot. That’s pretty darn good, allows guys to play all out and not worry about foul trouble like Cody had to do this past year. Troy seems like the most polished and therefore the most likely one-and-done of the group.

First off this young man looks to be the real deal and I have wanted him from the very first time I seen a highlight clip of him. I don’t normally get too wrapped up in highlight clips of players but every now & then you can just tell that a kid has that something extra & that extra is special and this kid fits that to the T. He looks like he would be pretty much a perfect fit for CTC’s system.

I know Trey L is class of ’14 & NV is reclassifying to ’13 plus is more than likely one and done but if we can land this young man it would certainly take most of the sting out of losing TL. One of the most overheard phrases around here will be, Trey who, if we can convince this young man to sign on with us. I would still like for TL to end up at IU but everything concerning him points in the totally opposite direction. Still wish him the best wherever he ends up at…….unless it’s at a certain place that allows one to smell the aroma of slime remover from many miles away & things are really starting to look like he will need to pack a year’s worth of slime remover.

Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why CTC & Co. were at NV’s open gym instead of a certain other player’s open gym. I fully endorse TC’s decision on that one.

Isn’t it strange that not one peep ever came public about the IU’s staff visit with Anya at his home. Not sure that’s good or bad..Alex..U hear anything off the record?

  • Drewp1

Im thinking VO and WS will go pro after this year.

  • ace132

I was thinking put him at the 3/4. as good as he looked on the youtube video, his best attribute is his rebounding per multiple sources. It would be an extremely versatile line up. suffocating defensively.
    1.Yogi
    2. Vic
    3/4 Will
    3/4 Noah

Just saw where J Randle has included UK is his final 6…and the Harrison twins in MD are suppose to announ ce soon (tomorrow?) between UK and Maryland. If Coach Cal loads up with that group, maybe he’ll go away…one can hope.

I’m about 20 miles west of Louisville, but I don’t live on the stupid side of the river.

CTC would make it work…they would be the post CZ building blocks with Yogi. You have some great pieces in addition to these and a repeat (from 2013) banner is possible.
