Marcus Lee trims list to three schools

After scheduling an official visit for Hoosier Hysteria, it turns out Marcus Lee won’t make it to Bloomington for a look at IU’s campus.

Lee, the No. 27 player in the 2013 class according to ESPN.com, trimmed his list to three schools last night.

“Louisville CAL Kentucky,” Lee tweeted last night. The news was first reported by Jason McCleary.

Lee has already taken an unofficial visit to California, which is about 45 minutes from his home and an official visit to Louisville.

He was also considering Duke, Kansas and UCLA in his final seven schools.

Indiana already has four commitments for the class of 2013 — Stanford Robinson, Collin Hartman, Devin Davis and Luke Fischer.

The Hoosiers are still pursuing a trio of prospects in the class: BeeJay Anya, Kennedy Meeks and Troy Williams.

Anya will make an official visit for Hoosier Hysteria and Tom Crean and Kenny Johnson made an in-home visit with Williams on Monday at Oak Hill Academy. Williams’ uncle and AAU coach, Boo Williams, told Inside the Hall on Monday that his nephew is strongly considering IU.

Indiana will also make an in-home visit with Meeks next week.

Sometimes I’m beginning to think ignorance is bliss. In the past I didn’t know who these guys were so i never really had hopes. Damn you ITH!

  • stevetodd73

No kidding! Talk about short term memory, could you imagine being a coach recruiting these kids? I wonder what a successful rate of commitments is for a coach? Maybe 5%?

  • SCHoosier

10-4 Milla..with Crean’s recruiting..IU’s re-discovered image and the ITH info..its hard to sleep at night:) If I’m an opposing recruiter I am certainly pointing out the scholarship crunch for IU in ’13..the fact that Anya may be a lock..and what happened to Pattrerson. In other words..if you want a sure thing..IU isn’t the place. tought business.

  • ScoopGeoff

Yeah, but we can’t have ‘em all… and wouldn’t you rather have Anya (or Meeks)?

    I would.

  • MillaRed

No doubt. But this guy would not have made me sad either.

  • MillaRed

I wish a few of these guys were 2014. Gotta get the bad taste the Trey situation left in our mouths. Still pissy.

  • MillaRed

I still have no idea how any of this works. How many offers do we have out there for 2013. Still yet you know BeeJay is a top priority. Like I said, ignorance is bliss.

  • marcusgresham

    Stay west, Young Man.

  • HoosierTrav

He will. I truly believe that with the class Cal is starting to put together, he isn’t going to be the lone local who missed out. I believe Aron Gordon end up at Cal as well.

  • HoosierTrav

I was thinking/realizing this the other day. Gonna be hard to root against some of these kids. I’ll manage though. #iubb

I know man. I hope the whole Crean & Calipari being “friends” thing is over and this becomes a heated rivalry. Crean doesn’t need to stoop to Calipari levels but he sure can stop saying nice things about him and start exposing him for who he is on a personal level. If i were a recruit I wouldn’t trust a guy who goes behind a “good friends” back and devalues him to me. You know that’s what he did. You think Trey went from wearing IU gear and shouting out the IU fans at Adidas Nations to second guessing his commitment solely on Coach Cal listing benefits of playing for him? No, I’m sure Creans OVERALL record at IU was mentioned, along with Cody staying one year too long, and the scholly crunch. Scumbag! I wish that PUSS(add the Y) would play us AT RUPP this year!

  • DarkSouth

You can still root for the kid even while rooting against the team. Robbie Hummel may be the best example of that.

  • Sherronhasaheadache

good luck to you marcus, and you can stay out west o just don’t go to pUKe. i have watched some video of this kid and wow what a talent. he would have been a great fit for our style of play. i would have liked to see us get him instead of Anya. recruit on CTC!!

  • MillaRed

    So this so called friend……..

Cancels the IU-UK rivalry why? Because going undefeated was that important to him.

Then he hits up Trey’s open gym?

With friends like that I need no enemies.

Look man, you can give me all the money in the world. I would not trade a dime to be Coach Calipari. SCUM BAG

  • WestCoast Hoosier

With Peter Jurkin and BeeJay on the same team, well, let’s just say I’d be pretty cocky about our chances of success.

  • MisterSlippery

Guys like Cali-poopy baffle me. What is the point of these accomplishments if noone out there respects the achievement because of the way you got it. To me, its worse than achieving nothing at all. A lot less people know your name, but the ones who do at least respect you.

  • SCHoosier

Old adage..keep yourf riends close and your enemies closer.

  • IUMIKE1

Nice pic lol ! The only problem is that NO pic can do justice to just how much of a slime ball he truly is.

How could you consider going from California to Kentucky. What is the kid thinking.
